I'm so glad that I watched Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in their prime. I feel sorry for the younger generation that would be gaslighted that Messi is the goat or the better player.
Because Messi is currently performing better than Ronaldo they are now making it seem like the Messi vs Ronaldo debate is a Messi vs Lukaku debate.
Aside banter, i will always give Messi his flowers, incredible players and he's having one hell of a tournament at 39.

That's because you let them dictate the argument.
I've said this countless times, you can only lose to a Messi fan if you allow them defeat you psychologically with the World Cup gimmick. You don't allow them, you go along with the Champions League, knockout goals, trophies, final goals and performances.
If they try to tell you that you should win the World Cup first, tell them they didn't accept Ronaldo in 2019 when Messi had zero international trophies and neither did they accept Maradona and Pele above Messi back then, so why should you accept Messi now?
Their fans were in total depression from 2016- 2020 at least and their GOAT 🐐 was in his prime years 😂😂😂 it's not the same as Ronaldo at 38-41 years old, there's a big difference.

Ronaldo had to grind — Sporting academy, impressing United in a friendly, then fighting for his spot at Old Trafford.
Messi was born into Argentina, a nation with deep football heritage.
Ronaldo came from Portugal, a country that barely made World Cups then, and carried average squads most of his career.
So it’s not Messi’s fault that fortune gave him an easier road.
That still doesn’t take away the fact that Messi is the most decorated player ahead of Ronaldo.

In the Bible, the master gave 3 servants different amounts of talents — 5, 2, and 1.
He didn’t give them the same starting point. But what he judged was: _what did you do with what you were given?
The master didn’t punish the servant with 2 talents for not having 5. He praised him for faithfulness and growth.
So to Ronaldo fans: it’s not Messi’s fault his path was “easier” on paper. And it’s not Ronaldo’s fault his path was harder.
