Yall: are you a critical race theorist? An afropessimist? A Black feminist? A Black Queer feminist? An afrofuturist? A Marxist? A Black Marxist? A socialist? A Black Nationalist? A Queer Theorist? I’m intellectually promiscuous: I gets around and use theories that are useful when they’re useful for understanding and promoting Black life & liberty. Theories are not identities; they expire and are wo/man made, fallible estimations of truth.

@MsALibertine2 Thanks for naming this, I feel this so much. I have such big dreams about authentic peer support but my little heart aches every day over what the system has turned it into 😞

Im coming to hate the MH lived exp space. Not the beautiful peer support & advocacy that happens external to, or despite, systems. But I just don’t know I can survive much more of the political manoeuvring, co-opting, devaluing that happens when larger systems come into play.

@MsALibertine2 I feel this to my bones. Thankyou so much for being open. It's such a hard place to be sitting in, and an injustice to the powerful nature of being a peer when systems co-opt and bring with them such harm.
