June 11, 2024, I defended my dissertation to my committee. My research focus was about local school boards and anti-CRT policy. It’s still surreal that I’m officially Dr. Terrance Jamal Hinnant…..I stand on the shoulders of my ancestors and I felt their presence yesterday.

Exactly 3 weeks ago I successfully defended my dissertation & became Dr. Kristen D. McCollum! I’m so thankful for the support on this journey and this still feels unreal. My @MECME_School family made me special as always 🤎🙌🏾! I’m excited about the work I plan to continue to do!

We've had a busy but fun couple of weeks in Kindergarten!!!! We've built tracks and ramps to learn about motion, created amazing artwork on Art Day, and learned so much about different schools from our 2nd graders 😁 @HortonsCreekES
