@MsLECHistory It’s been not too bad for the first few years of migration also as I’ve just been eliminating spec points, now we’re getting into repeated aspects for the first time!

@MsAylingHist I did the same but I find it soo hard for this unit! I did some industrial predictions (I haven’t seen the paper) and kids say my NH mock was pretty spot on, but still find it tricky 🤣

@MsLECHistory I have a spreadsheet where I have every examined Q and the spec. Check one against the other and focus on cause/experience/impact themes that have come up for diff time periods. Sometimes I think there’s a science and other times it’s just gut feeling 😂

Embarrassingly so, I’d never used a MWB in my teaching until this year (my previous schools never had them) but boy has my CFU and participation amped up this year.

Some students are coming to the end of their History journey but it’s important they know the road they’ve travelled.

We’re about to start our unit on the causes of the breakdown of the British Empire. We explore: India, Ireland, Trinidad and Ghana. 4 places we have explored at various points across KS3.

Doing some thinking about curriculum (again) and our Y9 curriculum is on its journey of improvement. As we’re coming to the latter half of the year, we’re reaching the end of our threads that run through KS3 into KS4.

Thank you to the @HolocaustUK for coming in yesterday to Stone Lodge School with their Testimony 360 session! Students really got a lot out of it so thank you again 🙏🏻

Last week I went to the National Portrait Gallery with 60 year 10s to support their learning with paper 1. We had a session on migration to Britain 1500-present through portraits. It was fab and the support/sessions from Bea were v engaging @NPGSchools

Final week of term is unrelenting, starting each day with a triple espresso in my latte 😂

An enthusiastic 6th form open evening tonight for SL6! Proud of what the team has grown in 4 years. From one to six classes at GCSE and a politics a level class with History A-Level offered in September. I’m so buzzed 🤩
