June 19th or “Juneteenth” is considered the “longest running African-American holiday” and has been called “America’s second Independence Day.” It was on June 19, 1865, that Union soldiers landed in Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that all slaves were free.

I am so proud that @potus is our president. He is such a gentle man. Kissing WWII vets on the cheek, shaking their hands, hugging them. We are blessed to have such a man leading our nation abroad on #DDay80 and here at home, I pray for 4 more years to come.
