@Sam_H9323 @kittty_wake Fair. But does that then give the states the right to force private citizens to follow the religion they want them to? That's kinda what Im getting at. Religion is a personal choice, no one is mandated to follow it by governments just to live their lives

No, it was literally legally required for you to announce your Christian faith in order to hold a position of office in each state. This was happening long after the bill of rights and the first amendment was made law. The logic was that states should be allowed to make religious requirements if the people there wanted that.

I don't have sex when I don't feel like it and I have sex frequently and this blows the minds of too many men on this app "You can't say no when you're not in the mood!" Why? My man gets laid more than you do 🤷🏻‍♀️ Impossible to convince a man who views sex as a chore for her that sex should be a magical spiritual playground

@Sam_H9323 @kittty_wake I was under the impression that state laws litigate for how religion is dealt with in public office and public spaces. No states make religion mandatory in order to live there or how you're allowed to live in private, which is what you suggested above?

@MsKittyKissNoir @kittty_wake In every state besides 2 I believe it was required for you to openly state that you were a follower of Christ , either Protestant or Catholic to legally hold office. This was up until the late 1800's I believe. I looked into this a long time ago, I'll try to find the specifics.

@Sam_H9323 @kittty_wake Its been a while, but Im pretty certain the US constitution has a whole amendment (1st...?) Around freedom of religion. Name the states where religion is mandatory.

@lizisamused It was the taking the bins out argument that got me. He swiftly moved on to religion when I pointed out she can take the bins out and he can receive the dick instead 😅

Why do so many Christians interpret "my spouse's body is my body" as "you're not allowed to say no to sex" instead of "you ought to not demand sex if your partner is unwilling"? If my boyfriend's tired & wants to sleep instead of having sex, I empathize & let him sleep. Is that not treating his body like it's my body? 🤔

@MsKittyKissNoir @kittty_wake @lizisamused If your wife wants to have sex and you aren't sick or injured, you should do it. Same for women towards their husband. We have a fundamental disagreement here. In the Christian worldview the man and wife are one flesh. Her body is my body and vice versa.

It’s lowkey scary though there’s so many men out there who think because they’re ‘nice’ to a woman they deserve sex as a reward

@Sam_H9323 @kittty_wake @lizisamused That's not how it works. Religion doesnt give you the right to citizenship. Not in the UK and not in the US. Freedom of religion (which includes the right to not be religious) is very much alive and well in most civilised societies.

@Sam_H9323 @kittty_wake @lizisamused That's a boundary discussion that you and your partner can communicate and work through so a bit more of a sensible response. Comparing having your body invaded against your will to taking the bins out is an absolute joke though and its worrying if you cant see that

The Starmer "rent boys" smear was pumped around this platform by the usual plastic-patriot-cosplay accounts: conspiracists, rage-farmers, blue-tick sludge merchants and people who somehow always end up pumping out exactly the shit Moscow would prefer. Paid? "Useful idiots"? Or just addicted to any lie that hurt the right target? Fuck knows. (But maybe someone should try to find out!) But if your politics makes you indistinguishable from a hostile-state distribution network, you should probably stop calling it patriotism. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@kittty_wake @lizisamused But the things I do for her hurts me when I don't want to do them, so by your logic it's wrong for her to require me to do those things.

Reform UK published three separate policies today. Taken individually, each has its defenders. Taken together, they describe something coherent - and it isn't what they're selling. At 10:26 this morning, @reformparty_uk posted Robert Jenrick's "British Workers First" plan. Three headline proposals: cut employer National Insurance from 15% to 13.8% for British workers only. Maintain 15% NI for foreign nationals. Introduce a Migrant Worker Levy on top. This is not economic policy. It is a proposal to embed differential treatment in the tax system based on the nationality of a worker. Under the Equality Act 2010, nationality is a protected characteristic under race. The Act says you must not be discriminated against because of your nationality, including your citizenship. (Equality Human Rights Commission) Jenrick's proposal would write that discrimination into the tax code and ask employers to administer it. That is what Reform wants to replace the Equality Act with. Not freedom. A different hierarchy. Then at 17:04, Nigel Farage posted that the Equality Act has "poisoned Britain with anti-White discrimination." No ambiguity in the framing. The Act is the problem. It needs to go. Twenty-eight minutes later, at 17:32, Suella Braverman posted promising a Women and Motherhood Protection Act to back working mums. Here is what that means in practice. Reform has vowed to scrap the Equality Act and the Employment Rights Act. The Women and Motherhood Protection Act would replace them, offering what Reform describes as "explicit breastfeeding rights" and extended deadlines for maternity discrimination claims. (Left Foot Forward) The Equality Act currently makes it illegal to discriminate against people with protected characteristics, including pregnant women and those on maternity leave. It provides women with vital protections against being fired, demoted or treated unfavourably at work while pregnant and post-pregnancy. Analysis by the Labour Party estimated that as many as 500,000 pregnant women could be left without protection if the Act were scrapped. (Left Foot Forward) The TUC said it was "galling" for Reform to expect women to be grateful for what amounts to a reduction in their rights. (Left Foot Forward) So the sequence today is this. Jenrick proposes a tax system that discriminates by nationality, which the Equality Act currently prohibits. Farage declares the Equality Act has poisoned the country. Braverman promises to protect working mothers with the very legislation whose repeal would strip the protections working mothers currently hold. The Equality Act is not a bureaucratic inconvenience. It is the primary legal instrument that makes all three of those proposals either illegal or impossible under current law. That is not a coincidence. That is a programme.

@FloridaThales @BartonRMShaw @GayBearRes *SOME* of the time, absolutely not. And this is what some are being obtuse about. If it were expected 100% of the time, and sanctions like divorce threats were raised at any objection that would be abuse. Though still not rape.

@AmyElli0ttDunne I mentioned it. Women have 200+ bodies because they electrified their vag with the vibrator and stuffed it with an 11 incher to orgasm. Then they couldn't find a guy to do the same without the tools.
