@msruggerio I think upon reflection, students understand that teachers and YouTubers have very different jobs. We also have them watch a science of learning physics video that I think you or @MartaStoeckel recommended a few years ago so between the two, teaching != entertainment is covered

@msruggerio We have students do an assignment where they watch some physics YouTubers and compare their styles and then write about how that is different from being a teacher. 😜

@offgridteacher @MkPaxson @SacBookReviewer We couldn’t get subs last year so our superintendent increased sub pay but capped the amount teachers would have to pay on leave at the old rate 🙏

Sac City Unified upped their sub pay to $355 A DAY. $355.

@DavidENorman A lot of the EV tax incentives are only for the first two model years so it’s more than that. It if you can get in those years, it’s a good deal. My plug-in RAV-4 was the same as the hybrid model with tax credits.

Model 3 with incentives & tax credits are like $36k & similar price to a Toyota Camry or Honda accord

@MrMasonBPS That's a lot of students. Add another roster list. Look at the All tab and make a new column. I had to do it by hand because the cells are interleaved. The adjust the formulas in the Cards tab, cells A1 and A9.

@msruggerio Ok but I read your response and I also drove around with a muffin tin for over a year. I knew my people were in that thread.

@21NGPhys It works a lot better when most Ts at the school do something similar. I wish we had a school wide no phone during school hours rule but I can’t control that. @heymrsbond is using individual boxes at the Ss desks which may work better for some classes.🤷‍♀️

@MsMagaryPhysics I love this idea, however, the schools I've worked in, Ss refused point blankly to hand over their phones, they see it as their right to have one (you know in case parents contacted them!). I'm not adverse to this, actually is very brilliant and should be standard in all schools.

Had to delete my original post of this because the resolution was too high. Anyway, here's the phone pocket organizer with labels again, it worked for me last year. See the QT for a spreadsheet to generate labels from rosters.

@jhanna831 I used to spend more time teaching students about LEDs are more efficient. I'll still mention incandescents, but there will be less focus.
