Why isn’t anyone picking him (or Kyle this morning) up on saying Burnham is a matter for the NEC - He IS the NEC! And yes, there are other members but are you really telling me the leader doesn’t influence others? They ain’t sabotaging their future seat in the Lords for no one.

Why are Scots voting for English Parties? They are not Scottish never were. The only two are SNP and Greens . Why would anyone do that ? I have never seen any other country in the world vote for its neighbour parties. Shame of Scotland, its embaressing. #VoteSNP 🏴

@Altymcaltalt3 I kind of get it, as tepid as it is it's still a conveniently timed jab at Zack. I think she is overreacting, and it could give the wrong people some ammo, but the statement from Caroline is cynical too. The greens need to close ranks, don't apologise, and go on the offence.

This is true if you are content with a system where MPs don't engage with what they are voting on and just get pointed towards a voting lobby by a party whip.
It's crucial to democracy that MPs engage with the content of each vote and come to an informed view.

The “MPs shouldn’t drink and vote” debate is a bit of a red herring because so often there's no cognitive function involved in voting. Most MPs show up to the voting lobbies when the bells ring, are told by their whips which division lobby to go through, and it’s job done. As long as they’re able to walk in a straight line the booze is neither here nor there.

I really think Starmer blocking Burnham in Gorton and Denton was a sliding doors moment. Labour are now in a collapse they won’t recover from. The crazy thing? EVERYONE but Lucy Powell voted against Burnham in the NEC special committee. 8-1. Suicidal lemmings.
