Grade 8s at @stjuliabilliart used @Ozobot to demonstrate their learning of unicellular organisms! They coded their bots to mimic how these organisms move using either a cilia or flagella 🧫 @YCDSB

We took Mousey trick-or-treating this week! 🍭🍬🎃 We learned how to avoid the pumpkin obstacles while practicing our directional language! #SDD @stjuliabilliart @YCDSB

The Grade 3s at @stjuliabilliart explored @quivervision today by getting in the Halloween spirit! 🎃 @YCDSB

Grade 8 students at #SDD explored and tested their knowledge about animal and plant cells through augmented reality using @quivervision 🧫🧬 @YCDSB

After a read aloud of Renee Kurilla’s “It’s Fall!” we brainstormed all of the things we love about this season! K-3 students at #SDD and @stjuliabilliart then explored their Fall Makerspace Centres this week with a focus on math & STEM 🍂🍎 @YCDSB

Friends coded @Ozobot through a Thanksgiving feast using new codes: pause, line switching, U-turns, and game over 🦃🍂 lots of giggles and fun all around! @YCDSB @stjuliabilliart #SDD

A read aloud and simple STEM challenge to rebuild Violet’s table reminded these amazing Gr. 7&8 students how to be present in the moment 😌 Thank you @peterhreynolds for such a beautiful story ❤️ @YCDSB @stjuliabilliart #SDD

We have been exploring FigJam through @figma ! This amazing tool allows students to collaborate and share their ideas in real time & provide feedback to one another. This week’s theme: what we are grateful for as Thanksgiving approaches 🍂 @stjuliabilliart @YCDSB @TPaniculam

Our little friends at #SDD & @stjuliabilliart explored what it meant to take good care of our library books this past week! They worked together and looked for clues in real books, and we co-created our responsibilities going forward with book exchanges 🔍📚 @YCDSB

It’s back!!! Our @scholasticCDA Book Fair is up and running at #SDD and there are so many wonderful books to check out! Our fair runs all week, with a special extended buying evening on Thursday 📚 See you at the Book Fair Stingers! @YCDSB

Our final Makerspace Centres of the year at #SDD were of course all things SUMMER! ☀️🍉🕶️⛱️ Many opportunities to continue practicing math & literacy concepts while having fun! @YCDSB

The Gr. 3s at @stjuliabilliart have been learning to code simple games with @scratch and CS First, including a flying game where their cat sprite had to catch the balloons using variables, conditional statements, & sensing blocks 🎈 @YCDSB

Our school BBQ inspired our @LEGO_Education carnival games ⛳️ The Gr. 5s at #SDD worked together to build and code their awesome pieces! @YCDSB

Does a bubble’s shape change depending on the bubble wand? Gr. 5s at #SDD & Gr. 5P at @stjuliabilliart answered this by creating prototypes in @tinkercad and testing them out! Thanks to @Mr_C_Reda & @YCDSB for having us borrow a @dremel printer! @STREAM_ycdsb
