@chemwithmissg @CCMMSRedwolves @NCStateCED This is such an interesting and important lesson. I never had classes like this in school but I believe conflict management is something everyone should learn about. I also love the use of real-life scenarios to make learning more meaningful. Awesome workshop!

Before thanksgiving, my ED 204 PLC got to teach a lesson on conflict management within the Restore & Reflect room at @CCMMSRedwolves! We worked on real life scenarios and how to handle conflict with peers in productive ways. #ED204SLP @NCStateCED

@misterlaserinko @CCMMSRedwolves Your workshop looks awesome! I love the lesson focus and can tell that a lot of thought and creativity was put into your workshop. The emphasis on providing multiple media is super important and I like that you did it in a creative way with your slides.

This semester my partner and I had the opportunity to present a workshop on culture and point of view to a 7th grade ELA class. Our focus was on how our environments influence the way we are, the stories we tell, and the values we hold. #ED204SLP @CCMMSRedwolves

@MOllio_teach @CCMMSRedwolves @NCSU_CEDTandD Great lesson! I like the idea of getting the students involved in sharing their own examples instead of just having the teacher provide them. I could see students having a lot of fun with this!

@Ms_MaryKateWise @CCMMSRedwolves @NCStateCED I love this SLP! Your students did wonderful jobs creating their paper airplanes. I really like the steps you put within the “your goal” slide as well! What class were you working in when you did this?

Last Tuesday, the students @CCMMSRedwolves worked on creating unique paper airplanes. The lesson was designed to teach students about the design process and see it in effect. #ED204SLP @NCStateCED

@mslynch_teach I love the real-world examples that you created for these percentage problems. Not only does this show the students why percentages are important day-to-day, but it makes learning more fun!

@AliAintHome I love that you gave students multiple outlets to express their learning! In middle and high school, presenting was always scary for me, so I would've really appreciated an option like this.

Although we put more emphasis on presenting and interacting, we allowed options for paper and pencil enjoyers! Everyone learns in their own way 👐💪💪

#ED204SLP @CCMMSRedwolves @NCStateCED The SLP assignment we did last week was tons of fun! We talked about the three branches of Robotics Careers along with what to expect in the hopes that those who like the class can think about a future with the things they learned. (1/2)

Just some of the paper airplanes that were created in last Tuesday’s class! I learned that hands-on activities are a great way to get students engaged and enthusiastic about the skills you are teaching!

For our workshop, students had to try and make their best paper airplane using the design process: identify, research, brainstorm, develop a solution, construct a prototype, test, evaluate, and repeat.

@mslynch_teach I love this quote and believe joy is an essential aspect of education. The book also emphasizes a need for building genuine relationships in the classroom, not just seeing students for their coursework/grades. I believe this can play a huge part in cultivating joy as well. #ED204

@Charlton_Tech You and I picked the same quote! I agree that the teachers who saw me for me, and not just my grades, were the ones who created the most encouraging and positive classroom environments. #ED204

Through the semester, we’ve been reading Becoming A Teacher in #ED204. So far, my favorite quote is at the end of chapter 5. When I think about my time in grade school, my favorite teachers were always the ones that got to know me on a personal level.

I really enjoyed Chapter 5 of Melinda D. Anderson's Becoming a Teacher. Although I think this whole paragraph is great, the final quote was especially impactful because it emphasizes the need to connect with students beyond their coursework to build genuine relationships. #ED204
