Weddings are massively inflated, and I love that smaller, minimalist and more cost-effective weddings are gaining prominence.
But fwiw, I don’t regret “wasting” money on a big wedding at all. If it is what you truly want, and you know you will enjoy the memories, go for it.

Choosing to spend over 40k on a wedding when you’re not rich/wealthy is psychotic IMO. Because for the most part, you’re spending that amount of money on one day. One. Day. Only for you to get divorced six years later.

Honestly, this is the right response. Fix your issues and finish the term.
Can’t support MPs throwing toys out of the pram instead of doing their job.
They want to be oppressed so badly when there are actual issues to address. War, inequality, potholes, housing, poverty, national security, transport, utilities?.

You know what’s annoyed me the most about some of these #localelection results?
Yes, Labour have not met people’s expectations, but the problems we have were made worse by repeatedly voting in the Tories.
This place is a hellscape.

@Ms_Ore The workload in the house was very equal between my parents. There was little push for gender roles (they’re African & religious but not super rigid). They exposed us to so many cultures & communities. Overall they’re just super loving, we’re very close to this day!

A senior partner once told us all that you can be a great lawyer, a great spouse and a great parent but you cannot be great at all three at the same time in the same day.
This is a perfect example of what they meant. It’s hard if you’re not in a similar role to get it.

I am a female lawyer and I can tell you for a fact that if you want to date us (practicing lawyers), you need to get accustomed to us being very busy and sometimes not having your time. As you enjoy the perks of being with us (financial stability and support), don’t expect me to have time to call you every second or pick your calls or respond every second, like a nail tech or a shop owner (professions with ample time to do such). Sometimes I am not even busy with work, I just need my own space to recharge after dealing with everyone else’s problems. You can’t imagine how emotionally draining it is having to listen and come up with solutions to people’s issues and then still having to listen to a partner complaining about you not having their time 🤦🏽♀️. I need my space to recharge please!. If you want attention 24/7 don’t come for female lawyers in litigation and then start complaining that we are not giving you time. As you enjoy that we don’t stress you fiscally because we have our money, know that making said money requires our attention 99.99% of the time.
