@KeruboSk Coffee is up there. The second it stopped being a drink and became a lifestyle, the price went up, the portions got smaller, and everyone started acting like “notes of citrus” justified it.

My aunt once told me they made a silent agreement early on: never mock each other in public for laughs. No “jokes” about weight. No exposing private arguments as entertainment. No humiliating stories at family dinners. She said, “If the room is laughing and your partner isn’t, you’ve already lost.” Respect is romantic.

I had an aunt who never tolerated problems in the family. If a child was going astray, she showed up. If husband and wife were fighting, she traveled even interstate just to settle it. If someone was sick, she was there. If there was confusion, she called meetings. If a child was misbehaving, she prayed, corrected, guided, and carried them like her own. She was the glue. But few years back, we lost her. And now… her own children are struggling. The same woman who fought for everyone else’s home is no longer here to fight for hers. The father isn’t strong enough to carry the weight alone. The support she gave others, her own children are not getting it from anyone. Even as I type this, I feel guilty. How did we get here? Here’s the harsh reality truth: Nobody! and I repeat, nobody can raise, protect, mentor, and fight for your children the way you can. People may try. Relatives may promise. Family may mean well. But when you’re gone, the difference shows. It’s painful. It’s uncomfortable. But it’s real. Take care of your children. Build them strong while you’re alive. Because when the pillar falls, the house shakes.

Classic Sponge Cake Recipe Ingredients • 4 large eggs (room temperature) • 1 cup (200g) sugar • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour • 1 tsp baking powder (optional but helpful) • 1 tsp vanilla extract • A pinch of salt Method 1. Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F). Line your cake pan with parchment paper. 2. Whip eggs & sugar together on high speed for 8–10 minutes until very pale, thick, and tripled in volume (ribbon stage). 3. Add vanilla and mix gently. 4. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. 5. Fold dry ingredients into the egg mixture gently using a spatula (do not overmix). 6. Pour into pan and tap lightly to remove air bubbles. 7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. 8. Cool upside down or on a rack to prevent collapse.

One of my friends has an incredibly inspirational family. She, her siblings, and their parents all genuinely like each other, and they spend an absurd amount of time together, even into adulthood. This morning I asked her what her parents did differently. She thought for a minute and then said, “My mom jumped in the pool with us.” Me: what? “You know how when you go to the pool as a kid, all the parents are standing outside the pool talking to each other?” “Our mom was always in the pool with us. Having fun with us.” I haven’t stopped thinking about this. Jump in the pool with your kids. (This applies to many, many things.)

I met a first daughter who told me she loves men who don’t just accept anything, men who don’t get bossed around, men who lead and she follows. Whats funny is, this babe loves to boss people around and when you don’t do what she says, her mood changes. Made me understand something about first daughters, if you don’t lead, she will lead, and her leading makes you less attractive to her
A.VICTOR@Lifeof_AG01

Firstborn daughters may have a mean/tough demeanor; however, this is usually only a defensive mechanism because they've had to be strong for a long time. When you get to know them, you realise that they are the softest, kindest, and most loving people you will ever meet.
