Tears are starting to take over me these days.
I work with different groups of kids every year. This year’s group though is extra special bc of all the transitions/changes. This year was quite closer to a “typical SY.” Sepanx for sure.
Mantra: “One child at a time.”
Today, I was given the chance to share and talk about my Filipino heritage, alongside our school’s principal.
Some of the Grade 2s also got to share information with the entire school.
We capped off our assembly with some turon (a personal fave of mine) from Mr. Gahunia.
What’s one of the most interesting things that you found about the Philippines?
“The Philippine Tarsier! *with excitement*”

To wrap up this week’s lesson, we did a “Write a Room” Activity that involved (G1) Fair-Share Problems, and (G2) Multiplication and Division strategies.
Spent our Language period outdoors.
We definitely enjoyed the breeze this morning, while under the shade of our lovely school tree.
Brought my picnic mat out to add a “spot choice.”

What strategies did the Grade 1s and 2s use to find the missing numbers (addend and minuend) in the equation.
“I made 8 circles. I counted 6 circles. I saw that I have 2 left.”
No matter what happens, no matter where I go, I'm a @Raptors fan first. Because I know what it's like to be underestimated and overlooked. And I know that this team will prove you wrong.
This team deserves all of our support. LET'S GO GAME 4.
Inspired by the book, “Dear Earth… From Your Friends in Room 5”, the students used their letter writing skills and wrote beautiful messages to our beloved Earth.
I hope you get inspired.

Grade 1: Capped off our Science Unit with some posters that encourages people to take some action and save water and electricity. Just in time for #EarthDay2022
