With a heavy heart, I regret to announce that we have lost my eldest brother, Oliver. Family and friends will be gathering at home, in Nyungwe, to pay their final respects and later escort Oliver to his final resting place. The Lord giveth and the Lord hath taken.

Together, let us change mindsets and challenge the status quo; empower our people; create future leaders and opportunities for change and development; reshape and manage policy; and dare to be different, as we propel Malawi towards economic liberation and revival.

February 28: Launch of the #Malawi Parliament Enhancement Project which aims to improve Parliament's financial operational independence in line with the Constitution
February 16: First AGM of the #Malawi Parliamentary Conservation Caucus (MPCC). Human activities are leading to global warming and the extinction of some living things and it is important that Parliament takes a leading role in tackling such problems.
February 14: Meeting with the Head of the Political Section @USEmbassyLLW in #Malawi. We discussed a wide range of issues, including the possibility of the electoral reforms bills returning to Parliament.
February 8: Back in the Capital and honoured by a courtesy call by Ombudsmen from all African countries who were in Lilongwe. I talked about the role of Ombudsmen as public protectors, calling on governments to be accountable.
On February 7 I was in Blantyre to deliver a public lecture at Sunbird Mount Soche on the role of Parliament and parliamentarians. This was part of the Taking Parliament to the People initiative. I was very happy to share with the public on the three mandates of Parliament.
I officially opened the two events with a call on Public Accounts Committees on the continent to reflect on their relevance amid growing cases mismanagement of public funds.
