My dad’s @facebook account of 20 years was hacked and he’s completely locked out. The recovery process fails of course because the hackers just change the email and phone number. They’re posting very real looking AI generated photos of my dad and his wife, claiming they bought a yacht and a big house thanks to a crypto investment. The posts encourage people to send a DM and learn how to invest. It’s really sad because I know some of his friends are going to think this is real and send money to the scammers. Anyone who comments to warn people just gets blocked and they delete the comment. It’s insane how little @Meta helps. We’ve had dozens of people reporting the account as hacked every day, and it’s still posting away without so much as a temporary suspension. He would happily pay for premium support (which today just means speaking to a human) but they offer no customer support at all. I don’t understand how these companies that are so critical to people’s lives and businesses can’t figure out how to offer support. Just make people pay a small fee when it’s urgent to cover the cost. The tragic part is that he had 2FA activated, but I think he was taken to a spoofed version of Facebook where he completed the login process and entered the 2FA code thinking that he was just logging into Facebook. The only silver lining is that scammers and AI may soon ruin the internet and make us more of an offline society again. We could probably all use some grass touching

As any prepper knows, taking down a nation’s power means DEATH for a large portion of the population. Iran is an urbanized society. Its cities survive on electricity. I do not think the American public has grasped what is about to happen here. We are talking about an apocalyptic humanitarian collapse followed by a refugee crisis of staggering proportions. And that is only Iran. Then there is the real possibility that parts of the Gulf could be rendered effectively uninhabitable, with critical desalination, oil, and gas infrastructure permanently buried in rubble. The Pahlavists are being used to turn Iran into another Syria. If Trump follows through on this threat, the world changes forever.

They plan to hit the desalination plants. The ME has 3 days of drinking water. Mass depopulation is the end goal, so they figure this is a chance to wipe out a large number of people who cannot escape.

If he drops a nuke then they will say they can’t impeach a President while we are at war. Republicans have dragged us into a suicide pact with an 80 year old dementia patient.

I’ll take it a step further. Failing to invoke the 25th amendment at this point, is a violation of their own oaths to this country. It should be seen as nothing short of criminal negligence, and they should be held fully liable for the death and destruction that stems from this.

Due to the attacks by the US and Israeli regimes on certain energy infrastructure, Iran has decided to block all diplomatic communication channels between Iran and the US. Filed a defamation countersuit against his own sister based on social media posts she made between 2021 and 2024. His family says she has mental health challenges. They used the words "psychological abuse." Said he was lying and manipulating people. Said they had no belief he could change. The board fired him secretly because they knew he'd try to undermine them. He came back five days later. Employees were told either Sam comes back or the company dies. This wasn't his first time. The management team at his first startup Loopt went to the board twice asking to fire him for "deceptive and chaotic behavior." He was reportedly pushed out of Y Combinator too. His own board fired him for lying. His own executives called it psychological abuse. And this is the guy the world is trusting with AI.
