@Ieetness I've studied LV less than Phx but I LV has better secured & managed urban water supplies than most SW cities, ~12 yrs worth of water stored, but the entire SW is in a 23-year megadrought and Lake Mead (90% of LV water) is down to 32% capacity. The deadly heat problem is the same.

There is a great novella by Adrian Tchaikovsky called “Saturation Point.” The premise is that in the near future the equatorial regions of Earth have been abandoned not because the temperature got too high, but because humidity did. Above somewhere around 95 degrees F and 90% humidity, human beings can no longer survive without artificial cooling, because perspiration doesn’t cool our bodies enough. Hence, if your A/C failed, you died. Therefore, everyone left. I thought it was an interesting and plausible take on climate change.
