It is unfortunate that some Arab and Islamic countries have chosen political pressure over constructive engagement with Somaliland. Somaliland remains committed to its sovereign decisions and peaceful cooperation, our relation with Israel is important and based on mutual interests, and continue to grow in a stable and constructive direction.

@KSAmofaEN While Somaliland is not helping form the Larger Israel, it's apparent that many of the so-called nations who conspired to issue this statement will eventually fall under the Larger Israel - we'll condemn it then. For now, we're keeping our Embassy where it is - Al Qudus.

We also held an official, private, and highly strategic discussion focused on shared interests that was not shared with the press.

I was delighted to receive the first-ever Ambassador of Somaliland to Israel, Mohamed Hagi, who presented his diplomatic credentials this morning.
Ambassador Hagi was kind enough to praise our orchestra, who played the national anthem of Somaliland for the first time ever in Israel.
This important new partnership
between our nations will bring a shared future of cooperation in a range of fields to the benefit of both our peoples and the entire region.

Japan should also recognize Somaliland as a state, given that it possesses an effective government and fulfills the three essential elements of statehood. In terms of diplomacy with Somaliland, the framework of practical relations between Taiwan and Somaliland could serve as a useful reference.
