Nigel Farage took £585,000 from GB News. His MPs declared another £770,000. Four billionaires have spent £170 million building the media machine putting Reform in your living room every night. Today the Guardian exposed them and what they expect in return. This is a political project funded from the top. #ReformUK #NigelFarage #GBNews

Before I was an MP, I worked on the current series of polymer banknotes at the Bank of England. So I know how decisions about our currency are made, and why they matter. Nigel Farage clearly doesn’t. What he conveniently ignores is that central banks regularly issue new banknote series. It’s how they stay ahead of counterfeiters and keep our currency secure. It’s technical. It’s essential. And it’s completely routine. So why is he manufacturing outrage? Because Farage and Reform UK have spent months attacking the Bank of England itself. They’ve demanded the Bank halt quantitative tightening. 💷 They’ve pushed to stop interest being paid on central bank reserves, which would completely destroy monetary policy transmission. ⚠️ And Farage has even suggested replacing the Governor with someone aligned to his agenda. Let’s be clear: Politicians leaning on central banks is how you spook markets and undermine confidence in the economy. Bank of England independence, brought in by the last Labour government, exists for a reason. To keep markets and household finances stable. I back the Bank to keep our currency secure, not to be dragged into political point-scoring. So if Farage spent half as much time understanding how the Bank works as he does attacking it, we’d hear a lot less of this nonsense. ❌

The Bank of England is replacing Winston Churchill with a picture of a beaver on our bank notes. This is the definition of woke.

I started listening to Bad Bunny when I moved to Miami a few years ago. It was always playing in the gym. I started to learn the songs, which started teaching me words in Spanish. Then some of the Dominican trainers at the gym and I became friends, and they started speaking Spanish with me. It gave me a small taste of what it must be like for immigrants who don’t speak English to come to America and turn to movies, TV shows, and music to learn the language. And how quickly you can become friends with someone even when you only share a few words in common. IMO that’s what Bad Bunny’s halftime show captured creatively. Latin culture is special. And you don’t need to speak the language to be invited to the party, dance, and experience community & connection. I’m glad he didn’t sing a single word in English. It’s his party. And I appreciate him inviting all of us, fluent or not, to be part of it.

Reform tells voters it opposes foreign influence and overseas interests shaping Britain. So why are foreign political figures being welcomed at Reform events framed around “investment” and “growth”? If this isn’t courting foreign influence, what exactly is it meant to be? Locally, I’m seeing posts celebrating “foreign investment” linked to Reform events Nigel Farage has attended, while the party publicly campaigns against foreign influence and global interests. That contradiction matters. If Reform truly opposes foreign investors shaping Britain, then voters deserve clear answers about who is being welcomed into the room, why they’re there, and on what terms. Especially when some of those figures hold political or religious views the party claims to reject. This isn’t an accusation. It’s a question of consistency. If the message is “Britain first”, then transparency comes first too. Who is being courted. Who is funding what. And why the rhetoric changes behind closed doors. If nothing is wrong, answering should be easy. 🇸🇴🇬🇷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧☕️🫖

Reform sells a very clean story. Britain first. No foreign influence. No backroom deals. No outsiders buying their way into our politics. So explain this slowly. Why do “investment” photo ops keep popping up around Reform events. Overseas figures. Overseas money. Overseas access. All wrapped in the soft language of “growth” while the public language stays hard. Globalists. Foreign interference. Britain under siege. Both cannot be true. If “foreign influence” is wrong then courting it is wrong too. Even before a contract. Even before a policy. The courting is the point. Access. Leverage. Optics. A handshake that becomes a phone call later. This is not me claiming a crime. This is me asking for receipts. Names. Terms. Transparency. If it is clean then it should read clean. Reform voters deserve to know who gets invited into the room and why. What is being offered. What is being asked for. What changes when the doors close. Farage has form for a split screen life. Big lines for voters and careful arrangements for money. He has attacked tax avoidance then admitted he set up an offshore trust on the Isle of Man and called it “a mistake”. This is the pattern. Loud purity. Quiet exceptions. Same with the NHS. He has previously argued the UK should look at an insurance based system. That is not “free at the point of need” forever. That is free until the bill arrives. So when Reform supporters chant about “foreign influence” while celebrating “foreign investment” in the same breath this is not patriotism. It is a con. If Reform really is Britain first then prove it in daylight. Who is being courted. Who is funding what. What is being promised. What access is being sold. If nothing is wrong, answering should be easy.

So I see this tweet is once again recirculating this morning. I wrote it on day of Trump’s first visit to London. Eight years on, the UK is still in denial & ignorance about the Trump-Farage project & what it means for us

Polite reminder. Trump & Brexit are not 2 different things. They are the same thing. Same companies. Same data. Same Facebook. Same Russians. Same Cambridge Analytica. Same Robert Mercer. Same Steve Bannon. Same Breitbart. Same Alexander Nix. Same Donald Trump. Same Nigel Farage.
