Today's Black American (Freedmen) inventor is Henry T. Sampson. Sampson co-invented the gamma-electric cell, a device that converts gamma rays into electricity. He also invented a case-bonding system for cast composite rocket propellants and a binder system for propellants and explosives. His technology is used in space exploration and rocket propulsion. #BlackHistoryMonth

Today's Black American (Freedmen) inventor or innovator is Dr. Alice Ball. Leprosy has plagued mankind since biblical times. There was no reliable treatment for it until Dr. Alice Ball developed one in 1915. Her method was used worldwide until better drugs were introduced in the 1940s. She died young and a white man took credit for her work for years. This is why #BlackHistoryMonth is necessary.

Today's Black American (Freedmen) inventor or innovator is Robert Henry Lawrence Jr. As the first black person to be selected as an astronaut by any U.S. Space Program (unfortunately, he died before he could ever make it to space), Lawrence Jr played a key role in developing a glide maneuver that would be an essential part of space shuttle landing techniques called "flare." #BlackHistoryMonth

Today's Black American (Freedmen) inventor is Valerie Thomas. Dr. Valerie Thomas created the 3D Illusion Transmitter that generates 3D images that can be viewed without the need for 3D glasses. Think of something like a 3D hologram on a massive scale. NASA still uses her technology today for space exploration. Scientists are currently working on ways to use this technology in surgeries to look inside the human body, on TV sets, and movie screens. #BlackHistoryMonth

This is Godfrey, a Nigerians new podcast. It states that is is about “amplifying the 54 countries in Africa”. Yet the only topic on the podcast is Black Americans. I can’t rage him because he’s blocked me.

Some of us are upset about what is happening at BET. Instead of just being upset, let's do something about it. We still have agency. Support the new Hidden Colors film. Let's make and support our own media! There are six days left! kickstarter.com/projects/hidde…

Today's Black American (Freedmen) inventor or innovator is Raye Montague. While working for the U.S. Navy, Raye Montague revolutionized the way ships were built by creating the first complete, computer generated ship design in history. Then President Nixon gave Raye Montague a month to produce the design, she did it in just under 19 hours. She did not just design the ship, but she wrote the computer program that made it possible to show all the ship's interconnected parts. Prior to this, designing a Navy ship took at least two years. She did it in less than a day. This forever changed and streamlined the way the U.S. Navy designed ships. #BlackHistoryMonth
