April 14th we completed full piloted transition. Starting from runway 08, we performed a vertical take-off and accelerated into wingborne flight. At this point, the aft propellers were stowed and the aircraft climbed in wingborne mode, continuing to fly conventionally. We then decelerated to the required speed to initiate the transition phase. After reconfiguring for transition, we continued to decelerate on final approach, gradually reducing altitude before completing a controlled vertical landing. #verticalaerospace #futureofflight #innovation

It was a pleasure to welcome senior representatives from the @FAANews and @UK_CAA last week as we continue to ramp up our flight test activity. The visit provided an opportunity to show Caitlin Locke, Daniel Elgas, Patrice Adjibly and Angela Stubblefield all three of our sites, share more about our technology, and give them a closer view of the progress being made across the programme. At Vertical, we believe close engagement with regulators matters. Our flight test programme is being developed in close coordination with the CAA, helping to build confidence in the aircraft and de-risk the path towards certification. We look forward to continuing to work with the FAA, alongside the CAA and EASA, as the programme advances.

We’ve been approaching transition from both ends - accelerating from hover, tilting the propellers from 90 to 50 degrees, and decelerating from wingborne flight, tilting the propellers from 0 to 40 degrees, as we incrementally expand the envelope. Today’s test saw our test pilot Paul Stone accelerate in hover from 0–43 knots, with the front propellers tilting to 50 degrees - huge amount of data captured and another step forward in building real, certifiable performance.
