I have read, with unimaginable heartbreak, the heartrending news of the brutal killing of a housewife, Hajiya Fatima Abubakar, and her six innocent children in Dorayi, Chiranchi Quarters of Kano. This heinous and barbaric act is an assault on our shared humanity and a grave violation of the sanctity of life, which the trio of our faith, culture, and laws tenaciously hold sacred.
I condemn, unequivocally, this nefarious crime in the strongest possible terms. No grievance, real or imagined, justifies the taking of innocent lives, least of all the lives of innocent children.
I commend the Kano State Police Command for its swift, professional, and decisive response that led to the arrest of the suspects through a well-coordinated sting operation in the early hours of today. The prompt action of the officers involved reflects the unquestionable capacity and commitment of our security agencies to protect lives and uphold the rule of law.
My heartfelt condolences go to the bereaved family, relatives, and the entire people of Kano State over this disturbingly irreparable loss. I pray that Allah grants the departed eternal rest and gives the family of the deceased the strength and fortitude to bear this painful, yet unimaginable, tragedy.
I call on the relevant authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and the diligent prosecution of all those responsible for this atrocity, so that justice is served fully and transparently. Accountability is essential not only for the victims but also to deter future crimes and restore public confidence.
May Allah protect our communities and guide us all toward compassion, justice, and peace.

Let me tell you something simple, but uncomfortable.
Most people don’t end the year tired.
They end it confused.
During the month of December...
Music is loud.
Detty December.
End-of-year vibes.
Then January shows up…
…and they carry the same confusion into a new calendar.
Nothing changes.
What I’ve learned to do before every year ends is very boring, but very powerful.
I sit down. Quietly.
No phone, noise, motivational quotes.
Just me and the year that just happened.
I look at the wins first.
Not to brag.
To understand.
Why did this thing work?
What decision started it?
Who did I listen to?
What did I stop doing that helped?
Then I look at the losses.
The painful ones.
Not to beat myself up.
But to trace the mistake.
Was it impatience?
Distraction?
Trusting the wrong people?
Or just avoiding hard work?
Then the unfinished things.
Those projects I announced but never completed.
That skill I said I’d learn “next month.”
That idea that kept moving from one notebook to another.
I ask myself one honest question:
What really stopped me?
Not excuses.
Truth.
Every time I do this, something happens.
The fog clears.
2026 stops looking like a mystery and starts looking like a plan.
You suddenly know what to repeat.
What to stop.
What to double down on.
People who do this before the year ends don’t come back with noise.
They come back with clarity.
And clarity is dangerous.
That’s why it works for me.
Every single time.
