The goal: Build a house, small at first with wings that can be upgraded with time. Get solar energy connected, no Kenya power connection, ever. Dig borehole, never connect to any gov water source. Set up water recycling system. Grow ample food in a way that maximises on space. Vertical farming space, hydroponics or whatever works best. Use recycled household water and recycled sewage water for plant life. Use bokashi and other organic bio methods for farming. Thrive Living Off Grid Life

ANOTHER VICTORY FOR THE CONSTITUTION AND THE PEOPLE OF KENYA Fellow Kenyans, Today, the High Court has reaffirmed a simple but powerful constitutional truth. Public office is not a shield against accountability. Public information belongs to the people, and every State officer has a duty to uphold transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. The court found that my constitutional right to access information held by the Busia County Government had been violated. Judgement in Omtatah v @HonOtuoma issued on 27.07.2026 by the High Court at Vihiga. NO PUBLIC OFFICE IS ABOVE THE CONSTITUTION This case has never been about personalities. It has always been about protecting public resources, defending the Constitution, and ensuring that no public institution operates in secrecy. The judgment sends a clear message that openness, public participation, and constitutional governance are not optional. They are legal obligations. I welcome this decision as a victory for every Kenyan who believes that public power must always remain subject to public scrutiny. Our commitment to defending the Constitution remains unwavering. We will continue to pursue accountability lawfully, fearlessly, and without compromise. #ReKe #GetitDone acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc…

In the next few days, upper level (200mb winds) sub-tropical & the Antarctic polar jet-streams will expand further into the African hinterland. The sub-tropical jet-stream will pull up as far northwards as Southern #Tanzania , while the Polar jet-stream may touch the Southern tip of South Africa. These wind-band movements will bring a blast of cold air into Southern and Eastern Africa especially over the weekend & early next week, leading to cool/chilly weather especially in the #Kenyan highlands & South Eastern Counties.
Maithya wa Vilivū@MaithyaVilivu

Updated Seasonal Outlook for #Nairobi #Kenya : The JJA cool/cold season feels much warmer this year, with some days max temps daytime hitting 28C in #Nairobi . Two major factors are at play here: The Southern Annular Mode (SAM) & the Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO). SAM is the climatological pattern that determines far into the sub-tropics the frigid Antarctic Polar air mass spreads & the strength of the cold fronts that hit Southern Africa during Winter. This phenomenon has two phases: +ve & -ve. The -ve phase allows the cold Antarctic airmass to spread further into the sub-tropics, cooling down the Southern sections of the Indian & Atlantic Oceans then trade winds bring the cooling & drizzly effect into East African highlands & plateaus over the JJA season. The +ve phase has the reverse effect. SAM indices have been in a prolonged +ve phase since May 2026. Model data shows that this has been one of the highest +ve indices, causing the Antarctic polar air mass to stay constricted around the South Pole. This has reduced the frequency of cold fronts hitting Southern Africa & even less reports of snow in countries like Lesotho & warmer temp anomalies in much of East Africa. It's worth noting that the current strong El Nino event in the Pacific has strengthened Westerly winds around the South Pole, leading to the strong +ve SAM index. On the other hand, the MJO outgoing longwave radiation has been quite active in the Western Pacific & Western Hemisphere since late May up to now, with very weak & brief signals over Equatorial Africa & the Indian Ocean. Consequantly, strong westerlies over the West Pacific have starengthened the developing El Nino to near-record strengths at this time of the year. Also, very strong tropical storms/typhoons have been reported in the West Pacific over recent weeks. At the same time, much of equatorial Africa, including #Kenya & the Indian Ocean experience less cloudiness, low relative humidity & reduced atmospheric convection. Looking forward into the 2nd half of July, Aug & early Sept Nairobi will experience settled, dry and warmer than usual conditions. Off-season rains will get scarcer and the city will get sunnier & dusty. After the Sept equinox, the tables turn & a very rainy ONDJ season will be upon the city courtesy of El Nino, +ve IOD (may emerge any time from Aug, per NMME model family) & probably a -ve SAM index.

There are some houses NHC built hapa in Embu some years back. Amazing location, walking distance to the hospital, across the road from the finest hotel here, walking distance to good schools and to town and the University, yet they remain almost entirely unoccupied.

Consequently, westerlies from the Congo airmass appear to get stronger from around 30th July, enabling moisture transport by lower level winds snaking through Lake Victoria/Uganda into Western, North Rift, Central Rift & parts of Central regions of #Kenya . This will lead to enhanced rainfall in these regions over the next two weeks.

I used to think like this when I was younger too. I was convinced that living in a plush neighborhood would make me feel better. After living in Kilimani and Kileleshwa for over 10 years and wasting millions chasing a pipe dream, I have never run away from Nairobi faster than I did. I won’t be coming back. That rent money is going to build my house and I am happy staying away from a place that I once got stuck in 4 hour gridlocked traffic, 15 meters away from my gate. Impersonal bougie neighbors with no connection, no okay ground for my future kids, who be playing in the parking lot and in the elevators. But hey, if it makes you happy. Go for it. By all means.

This is why the UAE (with US-Israeli support, as they're inextricably linked in their colonialist genocidal agenda) is facilitating the genocide in Sudan to disrupt, steal, and take control of its natural resources such as gold, gum Arabic, cattle and the land. #KeepEyesOnSudan
Al Jazeera English@AJEnglish

One of Sudan’s most valuable exports is gum arabic, a natural resin harvested from acacia trees. It is a key ingredient in soft drinks, cosmetics, baked goods, candies and even art supplies. Al Jazeera’s @hiba_morgan reports.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) suspects who basically own Kenya today bribed media house employees to delete post-election violence news stories from their YouTube channels, arranged for raw footage to disappear from newsrooms, and rewrote the narrative by portraying themselves as victims after funding the killings. The kind of money thrown around to sink the case ran into the billions. They paid an employee of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) to steal the list of witnesses lined up against them at the ICC. They used that list to bribe witnesses, paid hit squads to kill, and even made witnesses disappear if they refused to recant their testimonies. The officers who were in the hit squad that killed the witnesses were themselves also murdered. dropbox.com/scl/fi/oce61mk… Some of the targeted hate I receive is because I refused to hide my images or testify falsely at The Hague that the violence I witnessed was spontaneous rather than organised. Instead, we travelled the entire country, displaying the pictures and holding healing and reconciliation discussions. I was even approached not by the two main ICC suspects, but by Kibaki’s people, who were trying to protect his key civil servant. That civil servant was facing charges of five crimes against humanity: murder, forcible transfer of population, rape, persecution, and other inhumane acts. Entire police occurrence books were rewritten to conceal the true number of those who died. Almost 20 years later, there has not been a single conviction for the post-election violence. Thousands died, hundreds (possibly thousands) of women were raped, and over 500,000 people were displaced. Their animals, properties, and land were stolen. The 2007–2008 chapter was never closed. The story continues, and if you make the mistake of re-electing people whose only language is to bribe everyone and kill those who disagree, Kenya will experience even worse violence than in 2007–08. He has already normalised sending masked men to abduct citizens in full view of cameras, while goons work with the police to beat and violate opposition leaders and their supporters. Soon those masked men and goons will be shooting and killing people on live TV. That is exactly what happened on 25 June 2024. Why do you think almost all senior police leadership in Nairobi comes from one community, and that the police boss who ordered a blogger’s abduction and murder is being groomed to be the next Inspector General of Police? Let me stop here. You can find some of the photos I shot in 2007–08 dropbox.com/scl/fo/18ls8f7…. Finally, @DCI_Kenya boss Mohamed Amin: since January, your special teams have been forced to sign that they received per diems when they travel for out-of-station missions, yet they receive nothing. They are being forced to sleep in their cars and beg for food. Stop treating your special units like homeless people. Who is stealing their allowances? Or is that the money State House is using to bribe voters and pay bloggers? The struggle to liberate Kenya continues… #NeverAgainKE

We need to re-run videos from 2007/2008 post election violence. We have forgotten what violence can do to a country. What is going on in this country if not stopped will burn it to the ground
