Fortune Energy Group has unveiled a $6 billion expansion into #Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (targeting Lubumbashi), and Malawi, in partnership with a UAE-based investor. The project will build new fuel tank farms and pipelines linking Dar es Salaam to Zambia, aiming to ease transport bottlenecks, cut costs, and ensure steady fuel supply for key industries like copper mining. Chairman @mukulaa said the investment shows rising global confidence in Africa’s growth, noting it will strengthen regional supply chains, create jobs, and boost trade. The initiative is expected to enhance energy reliability across Southern Africa while supporting broader industrialization and economic integration.

The East African Crude Oil Pipeline, a major energy project, spans 1,443 km, with Uganda hosting 296 km through 10 districts and Tanzania hosting 1,147 km through 23 districts. Key infrastructure includes 6 pump stations (2 in Uganda, 4 in Tanzania), 2 pressure reduction stations in Tanzania, and 76 valves. The 24-inch pipeline is heated and buried for safety. Oil will be exported from Tanga, Tanzania, via a marine terminal. The pipeline features real-time leak detection via fibre-optic cable and will transport crude from Hoima, Uganda, to Tanga in 1-2 months 😊.
