In celebration of International Women’s Month, @canalplus and MultiChoice celebrate the women who shape the stories that bring us together and inspire us every day. Through the campaign “We Are… Because She Is,” we pay tribute to the women who move culture forward: actresses, creators, leaders, athletes and storytellers whose talent and vision enrich the entertainment industry across Africa. Whether in front of the camera, behind the scenes, or within our own teams, these women bring to life authentic stories that resonate in millions of homes across the continent. Because they are the story. And We are... Because She is.

This International Women’s Month, we celebrate the women who continue to break boundaries, challenge the status quo, and redefine what’s possible. Because excellence is their power. It’s their voice. It’s the one thing no one can take from them, and no one can deny.

This past week we celebrated the art of storytelling through cinema. From the industry talks and masterclasses, to the MTF Day and the award ceremony - every aspect from the #JoburgFilmFestival was incredibly meaningful and impactful. MultiChoice Group Director of Local Entertainment Channels Shirley Adonisi shared how the films showcased at the @JoburgFilmFest have been innovative and creative on a simple subject. "The films have allowed us to celebrate our music, our colours, our language and that has really been amazing. Kudos to everyone who has submitted their films," she said. Congratulations to all the winners and the nominees. #FeelTheFrame

Some riveting conversations were held at yesterday's JBX Sessions. MultiChoice Group Executive Head of Content Strategy Tracy-Ann van Rooyen took audiences through the distribution process in the From Festival to Feed: Expanding the Reach of African Cinema Through Distribution session. "One of the things we always look for if we're going to commission or become a partner and help with distribution, we have to understand the premise of the film. Who do you want your project to be made for? Who is your audience and where is the market you want to service," she said. The session was followed a Q & A with the audience getting insight into how they can best approach distributors. #JoburgFilmFestival #FeelTheFrame
