A simple and dignified flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Paris to commemorate the Pakistan Day. The event was attended by a large number of Pakistani diaspora and officials of the Embassy. In view of the ongoing regional situation, and in line with government’s directions, the ceremony was modest and simple.
Messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read out on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Pakistan Mumtaz Zahra Baloch @Mumtazzb recalled the visionary leadership of the Father of The Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the enormous sacrifices and multiple odds that made the vision of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal a reality.
The Ambassador lauded the resilient nature of Pakistani nation which, throughout its history, has overcome multiple challenges and demonstrated a remarkable spirit of perseverance and national unity. She recalled the determination and strength exhibited by Pakistan during the Marka-e-Haq in May last year, the Operations Bunyan-um-Marsoos and Ghazab-Lil-Haq in protecting its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Ms. Mumtaz Baloch said that as we celebrate Pakistan Day, we should not forget peoples living under repression and foreign occupation. She recalled Pakistan’s steadfast and consistent diplomatic and political support for the peoples of Palestine and the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) as they continued to suffer the worst forms of repression and colonial domination.
Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch also underlined the importance of Pakistan-France relations and the strong commitment by both sides to strengthen bilateral engagement and dialogue and to promote trade and investment. She appreciated the Pakistani community living in France for its contributions in strengthening Pakistan-France ties particularly people to people relationships.

It is getting very hard to find the buses due to ongoing challenges here- apart from a range of other considerations. Therefore those of our nationals who wish to go to Pakistan , with our cooperation , are requested to kindly register with the Embassy immediately so that we can plan their departure without any further delay . I particularly call on our nationals in Qom to cooperate with us in their immediate repatriation .

In last two days we have evacuated about 650 of our nationals across Iran most of whom were students . Moreover we are guiding and facilitating every Pakistani national seeking our advice on a variety of issues amidst a complex security environment. We thank Iranian government , particularly Iran’s border authorities as well as border authorities of Azerbaijan extending their utmost cooperation to us in execution of a complex and multi-tiered operation. I am also deeply grateful to Baluchistan Government and our border authorities , as well as FIA, for their 24/7 cooperation.

L'Ambassade du Pakistan à Paris a célébré aujourd'hui la Journée de Solidarité avec le Cachemire, en présence d'un grand nombre de ressortissants français et de la diaspora pakistanaise et cachemirie. C’était l'occasion de réaffirmer le soutien et la solidarité envers le peuple cachemiri.
Les messages du Président, du Premier Ministre et du Vice-Premier Ministre du Pakistan ont été lus lors de l'événement, suivis de la projection d'un documentaire consacré aux origines du conflit au Cachemire et aux atrocités commises actuellement par les forces d'occupation indiennes dans l'IIOJK.
Des orateurs éminents ont rendu hommage au courage et aux sacrifices exemplaires du peuple de l'IIOJK dans sa quête de libération de l'occupation indienne. Ils ont condamné les actions unilatérales et illégales de l'Inde du 5 août 2019, les qualifiant de nouvelle atteinte au droit inaliénable des Cachemiriens à l'autodétermination. Ils ont souligné que l'IIOJK restait la zone la plus militarisée au monde, où la population vivait dans un environnement de peur et d'intimidation. Ils ont exhorté la communauté internationale à demander des comptes à l'Inde pour sa répression du peuple cachemiri.
S'exprimant à cette occasion, l'Ambassadrice Mumtaz Zahra Baloch @Mumtazzb a déclaré que le peuple et le Gouvernement du Pakistan, ainsi que la diaspora pakistanaise et cachemirie, célèbrent chaque année la Journée de solidarité avec le Cachemire, non seulement pour renouveler leur amour et leur affection envers le peuple du Jammu-et-Cachemire illégalement occupé par l'Inde, mais aussi pour réaffirmer leur engagement en faveur de son droit à l'autodétermination. Elle a ajouté que la cause du Cachemire reposait sur des bases politiques, juridiques et morales solides et que le Pakistan continuerait à apporter son soutien politique et diplomatique total à ses frères et sœurs cachemiris dans la réalisation de leur juste cause. L'Ambassadrice a déclaré que les violations des droits de l'homme dans l'IIOJK restaient un défi majeur pour la conscience de la communauté internationale et que le conflit au Cachemire devait être réglé conformément aux résolutions du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies (CSNU) sur le Jammu-et-Cachemire.
L'Ambassadrice a déclaré que la lutte Cachemirie était toujours d'actualité depuis 1947 et qu'elle le resterait, car il s'agissait d'une lutte juste ancrée dans le cœur de générations de Cachemiris et de Pakistanais. Elle a également salué le rôle joué par les communautés pakistanaise et cachemirie vivant en France dans le soutien à la cause du Cachemire et les a encouragées à enseigner l'histoire du Cachemire et la lutte pour la liberté du Cachemire à leurs enfants et petits-enfants.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Paris today observed the Kashmir Solidarity Day with large participation of French nationals and the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora. It was an occasion to reaffirm support and solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Messages of the President, Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out at the event followed by the screening of a documentary focusing on the origins of the Kashmir dispute and the ongoing atrocities committed by the Indian occupation forces in IIOJK. Prominent speakers paid homage to the exemplary bravery and sacrifices by the people of IIOJK in their quest for freedom from Indian occupation. They condemned India’s unilateral and illegal actions of 5 August 2019 as yet another assault against the inalienable right of Kashmiris to self-determination. They highlighted that IIOJK remained the most militarized zones in the world where people were living in an environment of fear and intimidation. They urged the international community to hold India to account for its repression of the Kashmiri people. Speaking on the occasion Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch @Mumtazzb said that the people and the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day every year not only to renew their love and affection with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir but also to reiterate their commitment to their right to self-determination. She added that the Kashmir case stood on strong political, legal and moral grounds and Pakistan would continue to extend full political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri brothers and sisters in realization of their just cause. The Ambassador said the human rights violations in IIOJK remained a big challenge to the conscience of the international community and the Kashmir dispute should be settled in accordance with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. Ambassador said that the Kashmiri struggle has remained alive since 1947 and will remain so as it was a just struggle rooted in the hearts of generations of Kashmiris and Pakistanis.
