@Muncomagic That’s roughly half of what my Mum is paying, her house now up for sale. She worked from 16 y.o. for 45 years

@ollieboote @Jane_Dandoe @ovaroy91 @trollornotto Middle class wouldnt of worked for 42 years as a lab technician, or 35 years as an auxiliary nurse, middle class wouldn’t be in a 3 bed semi in Coventry. At 85 and 80 are still paying tax on their pensions, it’s not about class it’s about being fair to those who have already paid

@Muncomagic Brutal situation. £2,800 is probably light too and most care runs £6-8k a month now. And the means tested bit has been stuck at £23,250 since 2010 while house prices doubled. Not entirely sure why they chose that number in the first place.
