Great talk by Mark Palmer on US muon collider activities at HEPAP today. Scrappy grassroots efforts by hundreds of scientists while we wait for official US funding agency responses to the P5 “muon shot” so we can collaborate more effectively with the international community!

@Lastdays214484 In part, yes. We measure things to high precision to detect if there are NP contributions. And yes it costs billions of dollars. But pioneering scientific progress is a much better way to spend billions than on weapons for wars. Or this app.

FCC-ee is quite a bad name, it implies it will remain forever in the future. Perhaps we should go back to the original TLEP (Triple LEP)? Or better, VLEP (Very Large Electron Positron) collider? Something else? @FCC_study

@ambermruffin my friend we are trying to get a future particle collider built and the pillars of construction are stickers

The inaugural meeting of the U.S. muon collider community was hosted at Fermilab this week!

This was a great meeting with incredible enthusiasm and physics! Hopefully we can make the dream of a @MuonCollider come true @Fermilab

Last physics talk by Nima Arkani-Hamed, and the message is clear: We have open questions in particle physics, and a muon collider is a tool unlike any other that can help us answer these questions

We need a demonstrator, no way around it

Today’s sessions are geared towards setting up newcomers to muon collider for making more progress

IMCC and #usmcc should work together to realize a muon collider anywhere in the world
