Very interesting session today @AlzheimerEurope #AlzAcademy on legal capacity in #dementia . I was reflecting on the challenges of assessing capacity in #dementia & issues around long consent forms and participant information sheets @Dementia_UoB @IDEALStudyTweet @wolfsoncahr

“We have the right to know about and decide if we want to be involved in research..and be supported to take part”. @cquinn196 addresses capacity and #dementia research @AlzheimerEurope

A very rainy day so an hour spent watching the world of my garden brought the squirrel who hasn’t given up trying to get into my squirrel proof bird feeders - luckily he went away unsuccessful again 😂

This is something I still need time and space to reflect on. There are positives, but also challenges, to using your personal story as a CEO. As the podcast covers, ultimately could I have lived with myself if I hadn’t?

"You can't take the lid off your personal story when you're CEO of @alzheimerssoc then put it back on when it suits you". This week my #podcast guest @KateLeeCEO talks to me about fighting for care home visiting & her own mum's #dementia. Timely or what? podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/kat…

A paper my @Dementia_UoB MSc #Dementia dissertation student Sarah and I wrote on robotic pets in care homes has been accepted for publication @JDementiaCare. Introduced me to robotic dogs and cats, which might be good companions for #lockdown2uk plus they wouldn't eat the birds!
