Taillon getting blown up again in a spring training game would not, in isolation, necessarily be a cause for concern. But when it has happened multiple times now, and with his velocity down? Yes, it's become a concern.

It seems some Trump voters may have developed amnesia. In our polling, we can compare who respondents said they voted for in 2024 right after the election to what they claim now. 98% of Trump voters who still approve of the president recall their vote correctly. But for the roughly 15% unhappy with his performance? Almost 1 in 4 now deny voting for him. 13% even say they voted for Kamala Harris while 12% say they didn’t vote at all. I lost my dad today. He was a farmer all his life, and his insane work ethic every day to build us a better life certainly rubbed off on me and my brother. And he was a phenomenal storyteller who loved to chop it up with anyone he met, so maybe he passed that on to me too. Most of all, he was one of the best, most tolerant and most rational men I knew. I’m gonna miss him, but I’m glad we got one last Christmas with him and I’m glad I got to see the joy in his eyes as a grandfather. Tell your loved ones you love ‘em.

Local media used to interview me on a regular basis as to whether something Trump had done was unprecedented. That simplifies and distorts the exercise. It's all about degree, context, and the nature of the action.

When one includes actions undertaken by people who became president but who did not undertake the actions remarked upon while president, this exercise loses some intellectual integrity (and yes, I was consulted): nytimes.com/interactive/20…

Tenured academia is really not "just a job." - can't be fired. - get a 5-month summer break. - complete flexibility on schedule/wfh - study what interests you -get paid more than enough to live comfortably. It's completely rational to work insanely hard to get this!
