More good stuff and so much more to be done if Labour would unite around the PM .

📢 Big news: UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has announced landmark new government plans to treble the amount of surplus food made available for redistribution in the UK. The move aims to tackle both food waste and food poverty at a time when many households continue to face cost of living pressures. Our CEO, Catherine David, has welcomed the announcement: “The Prime Minister’s announcement of a national programme to treble the redistribution of surplus food to people and communities across the UK is a vital step forward. WRAP supports the organisations on the front line of this critical work, as well as the incredible work of the King’s Coronation Food Project. "I’m delighted WRAP was part of the discussions helping to shape this national ambition. Redistribution has a critical role to play, supporting stretched households while reducing the enormous financial and environmental cost of good food going to waste. We must also recognise the huge opportunity to prevent food waste from happening in the first place, particularly in our homes. Home is where most of the UK’s food waste occurs, which can cost a family of four an average of £1,000 – and we know that over 70% of people are worried by rising food prices. "At a time when households are under growing financial pressure, tackling household food waste is one of the most immediate ways we can help people save money, strengthen food security and build resilience for the future. "Today, with supply chains straining under geopolitical disruption and the cost of living continuing to rise, we must treat food as the precious resource it is. We cannot afford, economically, environmentally or socially, for wasting food to remain the norm. Whether in the fields, factories, shops, restaurants or our own kitchens, reducing food waste must become a shared national effort. “As our world becomes an ever more unpredictable place, wasting food is a cost we can no longer afford to ignore and we are talking with key partners in government, the food sector, the media, philanthropists and innovators to tackle the food bills crisis in people's homes. We call on all partners to step forward and step up their efforts in the weeks and months ahead.”

Woman Raped Outside Luxury Flats In Streatham, Police Release Images of Suspect. Police have launched an urgent appeal after a woman was brutally raped in the early hours outside a prestigious new development in Streatham Hill. The horrifying attack took place at around 5.30am on Tuesday, May 12, outside Gaumont Place, part of the London Square Streatham Hill development, just steps away from the busy high street, a high concentration of HMOs, and Streatham Hill station. The assault was captured on CCTV, but was not reported at the time. Police were only alerted the following day after reviewing the footage and have now confirmed it as a serious sexual offence. Despite this clear video evidence, the victim has still not come forward. Detectives are growing increasingly concerned she may be too traumatised to contact them, or that something even worse may have happened to her afterwards. Metropolitan Police officers, led by Detective Constable Charlie Codrington, have released clear CCTV images of the suspect they are desperately trying to trace. The man is described as a black male of medium build in his early 30s, wearing a dark cap, dark hooded jacket and carrying a backpack. DC Codrington: "This was a horrifying incident which took place in broad daylight, close to a busy high street. We know the woman in this footage will be scared, but we urge her to contact the police. We are concerned for her wellbeing and officers are here to provide her with welfare, medical and trained support." The Met is appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images, or who was in the Gaumont Place area around the time of the attack, to come forward immediately. Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference 01/7556597/26, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. #UKNews #CrimeNews #London #Streatham

Andy Burnham is literally costing the British people billions of pounds, BILLIONS! The markets know Burnham is further left and will want to borrow and spend more. So a man who fancies himself as Prime Minister pushes us towards economic ruin. It’s not OK.

Green Party leader Zack Polanski really is becoming a favourite of mine. Everytime im feeling down, the latest revelation for the Tit Whisperer comes out and cheers me right up. It now emerges he didnt vote in the elections laat week and isnt even registered to vote. 🤣🤣🤣 He says he isnt registered for safety reasons, but he has also admitted earlier in the week that he didnt pay council tax for ages on his houseboat, so i will let you decide the actual reason. Anyway stay tuned for the next instalment in the wonderful world of Zack. 🤣🤣🤡

I am a Christian who accepts that I live in a non Christian society. So why is Good Friday a Bank Holiday, should it not be replaced by a more popular and growing religion. We have been doing Ramadan and Iftar. Trying to feed an ISA.

@coatesaholic I don't think this woman goes short on telling us what she goes through. But to blame a parent of an adult is beyond and victim picking. Families go through hell mostly ending in suicide with no support. The court decided manslaughter for a reason.
