@MuseMallow So it’s basically an extension of modern content creation and the modern internet is now.

Back then, vtubing was *rare*. 2019-2020 we all knew one another, or at least were mostly in the same circles. It was about sharing resources and vibes, and if you saw a new vtuber they were rapidly adopted and taught how to use OBS and make a PNG from Picrew.
It's a hyper saturated market now, and with everything that is hyper saturated it's harder and harder to be individual as well as not work yourself to death.
What we miss is how it was before it was extremely capitalized on, before it was made into basically a business.
We miss when the point of VTubing wasn't making it big, it was streaming as a character we loved, vibing, and having fun. Figuring things out along the way.
Things are very aggressive now, very clinical in several ways, and the main "pulse" of vtubing isn't fun anymore, it's improvement.
Always improve. Always grow. Always be better. Do more, be more.

Dude, I keep seeing these posts everywhere and I’m hoping someone can actually break it down for me. VTubers constantly talk about the “good old days” of the pre-2021 era. They say back then the scene felt like a genuine tight-knit community where everybody pretty much knew each other. Now everything feels so different and not the same anymore. Is this purely nostalgia talking, or has the VTubing scene actually changed that much?
English

@ferretsuuu It was, and it's heartbreaking to see how separated we all are now
English

@MuseMallow the early days we all bullshitted with each other. everyone was like, not even two degrees away from someone else, or even someone major.
i mean i have a different reason to feel nostalgic, but still. The clinicalism was few and far between back then.

@foxdestiny3556 Unfortunately you have to make your own fun. How it is now is not healthy for someone to try to “fix”. It’s too big and the problem is too deep
English

@MuseMallow It's honestly frustrating. There's just constant fear and anxiety of it all. I think if we all took the time to communicate and understand one another. Maybe it can be fun again.
