@NINEOHTW0 @RaineyOvalle Exactly acting as if he isn’t himself pointing out the hypocrisy in wearing a thorn crown like Jesus but having it iced out. Is like tf are we doing
English

@RaineyOvalle U mf prove everyday why u like Dr Seuss rhymes. The entire concept the album was abandon the idea of having a celebrity as ur savior. If you actually listened to the album u would note that disc 2 was opposite of disc 1 AFTER therapy. Disc 1 is criticisms and Disc 2 is healing.

(I’m a fan) No one ever critiques him on actual substantial grounds
Like how his claims to humility don’t match his holier-than-thou grandeur. Or how his supposed self-awareness serves as a shield from criticism.
But his biggest critics are also very stupid and shallow people.
Hip-Hop Lounge 📻🪬@laurynslounge
What's your unpopular opinion about Kendrick Lamar?
English

@RaineyOvalle That’s… the fucking point. Holy shit we’re cooked, media fucking literacy is in the garbage.
English

“Where is he holier than thou”
Making a song like N95 and then wearing a 3 million dollar crown of thorns drenched in Tiffany diamonds for the press run.
“He already said he wasn’t perfect.”
Which you are now using to shield him from criticism literally right now.
But I must not listen to Kendrick because I said something you didn’t like lmao Y’all are not worth engaging on any serious level.
English

@burnergod77 They are all involved with the Republican Party. The current administration.

New York time podcast says Kendrick tried to pull a Drake on GNX of scouting talent but failed terribly because Drake is the greatest A&R of our generation.
ZADCOZZY@zadcozzy
Reason says Kendrick Lamar's poor curation of artists is why GNX came up short and didn't popularise the LA sound the way Kendrick intended.
English

Kendrick makes fast food music. No wonder his fans barely revisit the music. TPAB is a good example
Ehigbai Ohiwerei I@ehigbai_o
How can people not understand this? No body is following Drake to drag commercial success. But stop comparing the quality of their art. Kendrick is far far better!
English

What song does Kendrick claim to be holier than thou?

@Tajriis @RaineyOvalle That’s why a lot of critique falls flat. Whether that’s justified or not is up to the listener. He addresses almost everything he’s been critiqued for that I’ve seen.
English

@Tajriis @RaineyOvalle Im just going to assume you’re calling me dumb and brainwashed. Which would be wrong especially if you’re responding to my answer to the question. Which was a fact. He doesn’t do interviews, he responds to critique via music on his timing and holds himself accountable when wrong.
English

@PiercedUpMf2 @thatdaffyduck @RaineyOvalle I don’t feel that way personally, btw. To clarify I don’t think it was a punishment. It was 100 percent intentional. The criticism would be on how it was presented, however it was a big risk and I personally like it when big artists take big risks.
English

@thatdaffyduck @Mushur9a4 @RaineyOvalle See that’s yall problem. Yall always wanna dictate someone’s punishment. Yall not the legal system. The system whether you feel like it was enough or not punished him. To say his punishment was to be on Kendrick’s album is silly. Is it Kendrick’s job to punish him?
English

@DontAskMeee11 @thatdaffyduck @RaineyOvalle No. Do you have problems with reading comprehension? Like wtf are you talking about. Respectfully
English

@thatdaffyduck @RaineyOvalle I agree, there’s more to why he’s there (involving XXXtentacion) but I get what you’re saying and generally agree. That entire album is controversial it was kind of the point
English

@Mushur9a4 @RaineyOvalle I always understood the reasoning fasho but my issue was just......Kodak's punishment for his crimes was "I appear on a Kendrick album 4 different times". It just doesn't sit right w/ me is all, and I wonder if he could've handled the concept more tastefully.
English

@thatdaffyduck @RaineyOvalle It’s self explanatory on multiple levels tho I didn’t like it either. He was facing a lot of criticism during the protests and being hit with the “savior” title post tpab. He relates more to Kodak than what ppl paint him as. a true savior believes everyone is redeemable.
English

@RaineyOvalle There are very obvious holes in Kendrick's philosophy on a political level (how you write a song like XXX and then go on to feature Kodak several times on your next album is beyond me) but since the people Kendrick has issues with are village idiots it's never brought up lol.
English

@demsrnotliberal @Anopapi504 @chill_or_kill People are dissecting music again. Ignore the chatter and like what you like. I’ve personally had to do some googles off of dots music. Drakes production and melodies are very good. The 2 sides will never agree regular hip-hop fans arguing with hip-pop fans now 🤷🏾
English

@Mushur9a4 @Anopapi504 @chill_or_kill I love Kendrick’s music. I’m not smarter than a Drake fan though if I prefer his music. They’re just making rap music. It’s not that deep.
English

If you actually listen to him, you become smarter.
rayorraezzy@real_raezzy
The thing about Kendrick fans is they think they’re smart because they listen to him 😂😂 funny people
English

@demsrnotliberal @Anopapi504 @chill_or_kill That’s not what’s happening here. Are you familiar with his discography?
English

@Anopapi504 @chill_or_kill No it’s not. And it’s so frusterating that people say shit like this because they want to act like they’re smarter than other people because of their music taste.
