@gw850 Agreed... CMs and RBs are much easier to replace than 25+ goals a season strikers. Gordon is tougher to replace but he isn't at the same level as those top lads. Honestly our focus should be a full rebuild to get Woltemade into the team to make him more effective imo.

If we can get £200m+ for Gordon, Livramento and Tonali, then I don’t think it would be catastrophic. All obviously good players, but all have their limitations and could be replaced with similar ability for less.. if we’re clever.

Fernando Kallas is very reliable & credible on stories involving Brazilian players - he was among the early/accurate reporters on Bruno Guimarães' move from Lyon to Newcastle - a story he broke. Reuters reliability goes without saying (they have editorial standards!) Guimarães quality goes without saying. He's one of the best midfielders in the world. His age is a concern (29 in November) & he would not be a longer term signing like other CMs, but a signing like his from Manchester United is a statement of immediate ambition. Big game player & leader, elite passing range & vision, line breaking passer, press resistance, ball carrying, duel winning, intelligent, work rate.. he has it all. Adept in the #6 & #8, the near perfect upgrade on paper. His synergy with Kobbie Mainoo would be immense. You can argue he is a right player, wrong time signing, but if Bruno Guimarães walks through that door.. you aren't going to say no.

@LiamJKennedy23 Can't disagree with that assessment Liam. So much to like about the first half. But defensively how do we fix ourselves? On paper the individuals should be doing so much better.

The moment Trippier pulled back Raphinha was the point where NUFC resolve, spirit and belief dissolved. Before that they competed. After it, they barely got a kick. So many made poor individual errors. Have to be perfect defensively on nights like this. NUFC were dreadful.
