The devil loves to rub my past sins in my face, reminding me of how dirty and low I've been and when bad things happen I am told that I deserve them for all of the dastardly, detestable acts I've committed, but if this were true, babies would never die and children would not be abducted and the elderly would not be abused in their sleep, women would not be burned at stakes or scarred by the acid of evil tongues claiming they are justified in the name of "god." Innocent people would never meet their demise in wars created for earthly political gain. No devil, I am not being punished for my past, I have been washed by the blood of the Lamb. I have repented and will never stop thanking God for the gift that He gave. The serpent wants us to believe we serve a vindictive God who keeps score of our mistakes because he was made to slither on his belly to eternally writhe in that fiery lake. He kissed God's divine presence and chose to turn the other way. He cannot stand that forgiveness cannot be his, but is ours and that our Creator has deemed us worthy through His Amazing Grace. So when he tells you that you get what you deserve, remind him of his projection and narcissistic ways. You are God's and you have been eternally and victoriously saved. 🔥

“Pick up your cross” isn’t about dealing with a hard boss or a rough week. In Jesus’ day, a cross meant one thing: you were going to die on it. So when he said pick it up and follow him, he meant put your own plans, comfort, and life on the line, put to death daily what you want and choose what he wants instead. It’s not a metaphor for inconvenience. It’s a call to actually die to yourself.

As I continue to grow and spend more time studying Romans, I’ve noticed something changing in me. I don’t have the same desire to be part of every group or for people to know everything about me. Sometimes, I honestly just want to be MIA—not because I don’t care about people, but because my priorities are becoming clearer. I want to focus on growing biblically, examining myself, loving and pouring into my family, building my business, and becoming a better person in the areas God has placed before me. I’m learning that I can love people without belonging to every group. I can help people without carrying everyone. I can edify people without everyone knowing me personally. I can serve others without giving everyone access to me. And I can have boundaries without becoming uncharitable. For someone who has spent a lot of time being a caretaker and becoming enmeshed in the lives of others, stepping back can sometimes feel like I’m becoming distant. But I’m realizing that loving people doesn’t require losing myself in them. The more I examine myself, the less interested I become in managing everyone else. Maybe I’m not withdrawing from life. Maybe I’m simply becoming more intentional about where I pour my life. I can be MIA from the noise while still being fully present for what truly matters. ❤️
