As a CEO myself, not at a company as large as XBOX, but a large one nonetheless, the job requires the same. PSA: CEOs Should Never Respond to Console Warriors on Social Media There is absolutely nothing to gain and everything to lose. The loudest console warriors on X aren't trying to have thoughtful discussions about gaming strategy. Many of them thrive on engagement, outrage, and tribalism because that's how they monetize their accounts. The more chaos they create, the more clicks, impressions, and attention they receive. Negativity has become a business model, and many of these accounts are simply grifters peddling outrage for profit. The reality is that Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and PC all serve different audiences and have different business objectives. Xbox is fundamentally a software and content company that happens to make hardware. They own more studios than anyone in the industry. To maximize the return on those acquisitions, publishing on multiple platforms makes perfect business sense. PlayStation is a hardware-first business. Their consoles remain the centerpiece of their strategy, so naturally they emphasize exclusives and ecosystem growth to drive hardware sales. Nintendo has spent decades proving that it doesn't need to follow anyone else's blueprint. It serves a unique audience, dominates portable gaming, and succeeds by doing things its own way. PC gaming is its own ecosystem entirely, catering to enthusiasts who value customization, flexibility, and cutting-edge technology. None of these companies or platforms need to pursue identical strategies. In fact, if they all did the exact same thing, the industry would be far less interesting. Xbox, go be the biggest publisher in the world. PlayStation, go sell hardware. Nintendo, keep owning gaming on the go. PC, keep serving the tech enthusiasts. And to the CEO of Xbox: please stop responding to console warriors on X. There are zero wins there. You won't change minds, you won't end the arguments, and you only elevate people whose entire business model depends on keeping those arguments alive. Build great games. Execute the strategy. Let the results do the talking.

@asha_shar If you want XBOX to truly succeed, get rid of the political activists and replace them with real developers. They do NOT care about making good games, all they care about is pushing "The Message" with their identity politics. Its why most AAA Western Games are failing and losing customers to Eastern Games Studios. The more you ignore this, the more money Microsoft will lose, which means you will be forced to SHUTDOWN Studios..

Xbox will continue to show competitive platform logos at upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. I feel like the bare minimum expectation many had was for Xbox to really focus on their own platform at least for the time of the Showcase. youtube.com/watch?v=BwYgly…

The Mandalorian and Grogu is about to come in third place in its second weekend behind two horror movies made by YouTubers that have a combined budget of like 6 million dollars
Luiz Fernando@Luiz_Fernando_J

Little hope left for #TheMandalorianAndGrogu to catch up with #SOLO, as MANDO now risks ending up in #3 place this weekend at US #BoxOffice, after grossing est 3.5M on LOWEST first THU for #StarWars films under #Disney, -16.6% drop from WED (vs #SOLO’s 4.4M, -8.9%)!, again in #2 below #OBSESSION. Once again, even last year’s #MemorialDay release #TheFinalReckoning (4.3M, -10.5%) did better, despite facing family juggernaut #LiloAndStitch and having -443 less theatres than Grogu! GROGU hits a 112.3M cume after 7 days in the US.

It is very funny to me that this isn’t just like “guy who doesn’t like RPGs reviews an RPG,” it’s “guy who hates James Bond reviews the James Bond game”
NIB@nib95_

PC Gamer gave 007 First Light a 65/100, its lowest score. Unfortunately a scathing review was a foregone conclusion as the journalist they picked for the review; Joshua Wolens, has publicly revealed his contempt for James Bond and notion he shouldn't even be in games. In an article titled "Hear me out: What if James Bond just shouldn't be in videogames?" Joshua refers to Bond as a "smug tool" that "doesn't quite fit into games", in part due to being "an insufferable public school dickhead...a rowing club Tory boy through and through", who "comports himself like a man who has a right to the Earth and everybody on it." And later that "part of his charismatic arrogance is that he is suave and unflappable. Well, great. Good for him. I am not suave, and I flap at the slightest inconvenience. I simply don't fit into him?" Which could almost be mistaken for jealousy, but also begs the question, why the need to completely relate to or embody a character in order to enjoy the media? Some of my fave games and media in history follow characters who are nothing like me, often times murdering psychopaths or mix of some other morally repugnant or deeply damaged concoction. Call it emotional maturity being able to engage and really enjoy media and characters beyond having to feel wholly self reflected or personally pandered to. It's no wonder in the review Joshua writes "you still have to endure him [Bond] for the length of the game", like it was some torturous ordeal for him. Compounded by him admitting he "was ravenous to play anything with the IO badge on it after the masterpiece of Hitman: World of Assassination", but clearly disappointed the next game was Bond IP. Presumably desperately wanting them to go back to working on a chatacter/IP he doesn't have contempt for, that or for IO to re-work Bond into being something he was never intended to be. All leading to the main question; why give the review to someone who clearly despises Bond, didn't enjoy the preview and who's conclusion from it was implying Bond shouldn't be in games? For clicks, exposure or drama? Because to me it's somewhat unprofessional. Akin to giving someone who hates racing games and Gran Turismo in particular, GT7 to review. Or someone whe hates Mario, a Mario game to review. Reviews are to inform potential buyers, and buyers don't tend to buy or want to buy things they already hate or dislike. This doesn't feel that different from these grifting social media hate merchants who hate play games in a bitch eating crackers way, to either look for faults or through a lens of premeditated confirmation bias. Is this what PC Gamer or parts of gaming media are devolving into now? Find the journalists with the most contempt for a particular IP, character or genre to review them, in order for the highest chance of dunking on the work of hundreds or thousands of people, but getting extra edgy exposure? Disappointing. #007FirstLight
