There is a reason @ubasanius is No. 1 on every sane person’s list. Kaduna no longer asks to be considered. It is now being cited. The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has named Kaduna the country’s leading model in rice transformation and food security under Governor Uba Sani. Days earlier, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, through Country Representative Cheikh Touré, named the state Sub-Saharan Africa’s benchmark for drug prevention, mental health reform, ATI implementation, child protection, and transparency. One is a domestic peer review. The other is a continental designation by a UN agency. Both played on verifiable data and evidence. What these recognitions share is governance architecture. Rice value chains and functioning ATI regimes require the same boring disciplines: data, effective and efficient procurement processes, agencies that answer letters, a centre that holds. Kaduna has rebuilt the centre. On to the next one.

Today, I had the honour of standing shoulder to shoulder with thousands of dedicated men and women at the 2026 May Day celebration in Kaduna; an event thoughtfully convened by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress to recognise the enduring contributions of workers to the growth and vitality of our state. That this marks the third consecutive peaceful Workers’ Day in Kaduna is not incidental; it is a quiet but powerful testament to a renewed climate of trust, stability, and constructive engagement between government and organised labour. I was particularly heartened by the thoughtful commendations from labour leaders, who acknowledged our administration’s sustained commitment to workers’ welfare and people-centred governance. Their recognition of our interventions across critical sectors affirms the direction we have chosen. From the upgrading of 255 Primary Healthcare Centres and the reconstruction of general hospitals, to the recruitment of 10,000 teachers and 1,800 health workers, we have sought to strengthen both service delivery and human capital. Equally significant is the disbursement of ₦17.796 billion in pensions, gratuities, and death benefits; an obligation we consider not merely financial, but moral. The implementation of CONHESS and CONMESS, alongside our investments in school infrastructure and workforce expansion, reflects a deliberate effort to restore dignity and efficiency across public service. Labour’s commendation of the free CNG Bus Mass Transit initiative is equally encouraging. By easing transportation costs and improving mobility, this intervention has offered practical relief to workers and citizens alike, while reinforcing our broader commitment to inclusive economic support. Their acknowledgement of our progress in restoring peace and strengthening security across previously troubled communities further underscores the interdependence between stability and prosperity. I reminded our workers that my journey has always been rooted in solidarity. As a lifelong advocate for justice and civil rights, I stood with labour in the defining moments of our democratic struggle. That bond endures. I remain, as ever, committed to advancing the dignity, welfare, and aspirations of every worker in Kaduna State. Senator Uba Sani, CON Governor, Kaduna State. May 1, 2026

As National Chairman of the Ekiti State Governorship Campaign Council, I was deeply honoured to stand in solidarity with the discerning and steadfast people of Ekiti State at the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial campaign in Ado-Ekiti. The occasion transcended its ceremonial significance; it was, in essence, a compelling affirmation of collective purpose, marked by an unmistakable spirit of unity and an abiding faith in the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. The remarkable turnout and the sincerity of public engagement offered a clear testament to a people resolute in their commitment to continuity, stability, and enduring progress. Earlier in the day, I had the privilege of inaugurating a free medical outreach thoughtfully convened by members of the National Assembly from Ekiti State in honour of the Governor. This initiative, both humane and strategic, exemplifies a governance ethos grounded in empathy, collaboration, and measurable impact. It reflects a leadership model that not only prioritises the welfare of citizens but also galvanises institutions toward shared developmental goals.

EID EL-FITR: “A RENEWAL OF FAITH, A REAFFIRMATION OF UNITY, AND A CALL TO HIGHER PURPOSE” In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. I extend my warmest felicitations and heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Kaduna State, across Nigeria, and around the world, as we celebrate Eid el-Fitr, the blessed festival that marks the completion of the sacred month of Ramadan. With profound gratitude to Almighty Allah, we acknowledge His boundless mercy in granting us the strength, discipline, and spiritual awareness to observe the fast and partake in the deep blessings of this holy period. Ramadan is far more than a ritual of abstinence; it is a sacred journey of inner renewal. It calls us to a higher consciousness; one rooted in humility, restraint, and devotion. Through fasting, prayer, charity, and reflection, we are reminded of our accountability to Allah and our responsibility to one another. The Qur’an teaches that fasting is prescribed so that we may attain righteousness. Thus, the true essence of Ramadan lies not merely in its observance, but in the transformation it inspires within us: the purification of the heart, the discipline of the self, and the elevation of our moral conduct. Over the past month, we have sought to embody the enduring virtues of patience, compassion, generosity, and humility. We have experienced hunger and thirst, not only as acts of devotion, but as reminders of the struggles faced by the less privileged among us. We have given in charity, extended kindness to neighbours, and renewed our commitment to justice and mercy. As we celebrate Eid today, we must ensure that these virtues do not recede into memory but remain alive in our daily lives, shaping our actions and guiding our relationships. This year’s Ramadan carries a unique and powerful symbolism. It coincided with the Christian season of Lent, a rare convergence that underscores the shared spiritual values of sacrifice, repentance, and devotion among people of faith. While Muslims mark the completion of Ramadan with joy and thanksgiving, our Christian brothers and sisters continue their solemn observance. This moment offers a profound opportunity to deepen interfaith understanding, strengthen mutual respect, and reaffirm our commitment to peaceful coexistence. Kaduna State stands as a testament to the beauty and complexity of diversity. Ours is a land where different cultures, traditions, and religions meet and interact. This diversity must not be a source of division, but a foundation for unity. It calls upon us to embrace tolerance, uphold justice, and work collectively for the common good. Eid el-Fitr, therefore, is not merely a celebration; it is a moment of reflection and renewal; a call to strengthen the bonds that unite us and to build a society anchored in peace and harmony. The teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW (Peace Be Upon Him) remind us that the best among us are those who are most beneficial to others. This timeless guidance compels us to extend the spirit of Ramadan beyond personal devotion into the broader sphere of social responsibility. Our compassion must transcend boundaries, and our actions must reflect a sincere commitment to the welfare of all members of society. When we uphold integrity, fairness, and respect, we lay the foundation for enduring peace and collective progress. These values continue to guide our administration in Kaduna State. We recognise leadership as a sacred trust; one that demands accountability, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of our people. Since assuming office, we have prioritised the restoration of peace and security, working closely with security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders to ensure that our citizens can live and work in safety and dignity.

The free Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus initiative, launched by Governor Uba Sani’s administration, is providing a vital cushion against rising fuel costs. As global tensions drive up pump prices, these buses offer much-needed relief for Kaduna's commuters and civil servants, saving more money in their pockets #WorkingForKaduna

Today, as we commemorate International Women’s Day 2026, I join the people of Kaduna State and the global community in celebrating the strength, resilience, creativity, and enduring contributions of women to the progress of our societies. Across generations, women have shaped our communities with courage and quiet determination, often carrying the burdens of change while inspiring hope for a better future. This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” offers a powerful reflection on the path to meaningful progress. It reminds us that when societies make deliberate investments in women and girls; through education, leadership opportunities, economic empowerment, and social inclusion, the rewards are profound and far-reaching. Empowered women strengthen families, enrich institutions, stimulate economic growth, and help build more stable and prosperous societies. In Kaduna State, we are committed to translating this principle into purposeful action. Our administration continues to expand opportunities for women across governance, enterprise, and community development. Through policies and programmes that promote inclusion, protect the rights of women and girls, and support women-oriented initiatives, we are steadily dismantling barriers that have long limited their participation in public and economic life. Kaduna is proud to be setting a meaningful example. Women today serve with distinction in key leadership roles across our government and public institutions, contributing their insight, discipline, and compassion to the task of building a more inclusive and prosperous state. Their presence affirms a simple but powerful truth: when women are empowered, societies flourish. As we celebrate this important day, let us renew our collective resolve to create a future where every woman and girl can realise her full potential. By giving women the opportunities, respect, and support they deserve, we ensure that our state, and indeed our nation, will truly gain. Happy International Women’s Day. Senator Uba Sani, CON Governor, Kaduna State March 8, 2026.

I had the honour of hosting distinguished media practitioners and veteran journalists in Kaduna to an Iftar dinner at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Kaduna State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Mr. Abdulgafar Alabelewe. The gathering provided a platform for deep reflection on the indispensable role of the media in nurturing democracy, sustaining public trust, and shaping informed citizenry. The Council Chairman and other speakers graciously commended our administration’s inclusive governance approach and acknowledged the tangible progress achieved in restoring peace, stability, and confidence across Kaduna State. I expressed profound gratitude to the journalists for their professionalism, integrity, and dedication to objective reportage. A vibrant and responsible press is not merely a conduit of information; it is a guardian of transparency, accountability, and civic engagement, essential for the flourishing of a democratic society. Our administration remains unwavering in its commitment to uphold and protect press freedom. We will continue to strengthen collaboration with media organizations to ensure citizens are well informed and that constructive feedback from the people, whose mandate we serve, continually shapes our governance. Today, I joined fellow residents of Kaduna at the Janazah prayer of our revered elder statesman, Alhaji Rabiu Mohammed Bako, held at the Kano Road Juma’at Mosque, Kaduna. Alhaji Bako was a former Commissioner of Information in Kaduna State and a distinguished member of the Kaduna State Elders Forum. He was also a strong pillar of our administration, whose wise counsel and invaluable advice greatly enriched our work and decision-making. His contributions to the peace, unity, and development of Kaduna State were profound and enduring. We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Ameen
