You can have a price increase and demand remain neutral to the price increase which simply means the higher price did nothing to impact demand for the device. If you have a price increase and demand suddenly falls off then the price affected it.

Sony raised prices twice since then: once in 2025 (to $549.99 disc), and again effective April 2026 (to $649.99 disc / $599.99 digital). That's two hikes in under a year, citing economic pressures. Other regions saw earlier increases too.
