Going to write a bit here because this post touched home.
Yesterday (Sunday morning) my spouse and I were discussing the Bible, probably as a result of some bad theology I saw on X.
I mentioned that Christians would be a lot more effective if they would just read their Bibles rather than have them gather dust on a table in their home.
My wife pushed back a bit, said "it's hard to understand and takes so long."
Common sentiment.
I've taught (a lot) of Bible studies. For one in particular, a two year long run through the Bible from Genesis to Maps, we would ask the participants to give us an idea of how familiar they already are with scripture. In every class of 20 or so there would be 1 or 2 who tell us they've read the entire Bible. Most give a yes for NT, and "somewhat" or "none" for OT. Pretty usual.
(Quick aside - yes, you have to read the OT. Look up John 3:14-15, read it, and tell me what John is talking about there...it must be important because it leads to eternal life).
Anyway, over the 12 years I taught the course we had a pretty good percentage of our local church take it. Those surveys were eye-opening regarding the level of Biblical literacy of the average Christian.
Now for the important part.
30 years ago I was challenged to read the Bible each day. So I have. Each year since, in addition to whatever other Bible study I do, I read the Bible each morning, reading through it in a year, each year.
What does that have to do with the OP? In order to do what I'm suggesting (read your Bible, daily), you have to reorder your life a bit. Now, after 30 years, I can't imagine starting my day any other way. I read the appointed reading for the day and pray the (Anglican) rosary. I've used all sorts of reading plans over the years and own a full set of "One Year" Bibles in all the leading translations.
Anyone can, but you have to make the time. No one else can do it for you. The Bible only seems hard to read, mainly because you don't. Trust me when I say, read through it enough times you will be amazed at what God reveals to you through His Word.
So, when you're sitting in front of the TV tonight, imagine what you could do if you go to bed and get up 1/2 hour earlier.
Take out your Bible and start to read. You'll be amazed where takes you.

X being down was horrible but also liberating. It should be down for 30 minutes a day so we can all meditate or bake bread or something.
