Muthaiah Al earns second GM-norm and wins First Saturday 2nd Edition March GM 2024 IM FT @Muthaiahchess Al scored an unbeaten 7/9, finished a full point ahead of the competition to win the tournament and also secured his second GM-norm. Muthaiah performed at 2617 and gained 18.1 Elo rating points. He defeated GM Valeriy Neverov (UKR), GM Vasilios Kotronias (GRE) and drew against GM Milan Pacher (SVK) en route his fantastic performance. Muthaiah is now final GM-norm and few Elo rating points away from becoming India's next GM. Congratulations to Muthaiah, his family and his team for a fantastic performance.
