Very peaceful here. It gives me flashbacks to when we went up Brasstown Bald in Georgia last month. Also there are around 2,000 bears in the Smoky Mountains, so we’re hoping to see some.🤞

You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold." So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house? I didn't sell it, didn't cash out and didn't even make a profit. But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year. Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.

@Hybridathlete When I was in the 6th grade we had a wreck. My brother was driving we were hit on left front fender. Mom slid into my brother broke her arm. This was before cars were required to have seatbelt. Next car had in front and she had them installed in back. 1964.

6 years as a firefighter taught me that if you wear your seatbelt, it is very difficult to die in a car crash, even a relatively high speed one. It also taught me that it is very easy to die if you are not wearing a seatbelt. I can't tell you how many times I was first on scene to a 50+ mph crash, even head on or rollovers, and the cars were smashed to shit, but everyone in the cars was completely fine, not much more than some scratches or bruises. In many cases, all occpants were out of the vehicles and walking around before we even got there. But if anyone wasn't wearing their seatbelt, they were seriously fucked up or dead on arrival.

@Julie_Butcher By the way, Arizona and Hawaii are on standard time year round. Hawaii because it's on the equator, so there's always 12 hours of daylight, no matter the season. After trying DST once, Arizona opted for cool early morning daylight instead of an extra hour of scorching heat.

Moms. We want permanent standard time, yes? Anyone who wants DST plays golf and doesn’t give a hoot about families. They don’t have a toddler to get to sleep while it’s still light! We already tried it in 1972. Everyone hated it. Lasted what, 3 months?

Yes!! STANDARD time. The 'saving time' is horrible. I HATE it staying light until 9:30 at night. The change was for agrarian operations who needed extra daylight hours to be able to harvest longer. How many agrarian families do we have today? It's all corporate, automated, machine driven. And machines don't GAS about the time.

@Julie_Butcher I’m not a mom, but it doesn’t really matter whether DST or Standard is permanent. The numbers on the clock are just numbers, if it’s light out, just go to bed an hour later.

@EricG1247 65 year old age limit needs to be created. They dont let pilots fly forever, neither should people running the country. Age and term limits(both, not one or the other).

What’s the longest amount of time you’ve worked for 1 employer? For me it was just over 5 years

@grpwins @OrevaZSN The last one I stayed at had a code lock they sent me in a text. . It was a fantastic experience. But we are used to staying at condos on the beach.

@OrevaZSN You forgot the most important one, you don’t have to meet the host at a certain time to get the key.

Hotels are infinitely better than Airbnbs. They’re cheaper. No chores, no cleaning fees, no insane surprise rules, no mystery stains, and no host pretending to be your new best friend. Just check in, sleep, and leave. The way it should be.
