Chauvin's lawyer said it flies in the face of common sense to say Floyd's death was not caused at least in part by his underlying conditions or drug use. This argument is in direct contradiction to the prosecution's case which says believe your eyes, Chauvin's knee killed Floyd.

Today is a solemn day as the closing arguments are presented in the George Floyd murder trial. I commend the Floyd family for their dignified calls for justice, which were heard around the world. Let us be prayerful that the truth will prevail & will honor George Floyd’s memory.

Derek Chauvin's lawyer is telling jury Chauvin acted as a "reasonable officer" would have acted while also saying officers make "mistakes." The lawyer said: "You have to take into account that officers are human beings capable of making mistakes in highly stressful situations."

I just don’t live in fantasy world, lying to myself & those around me, & go along with false narratives that they protect against viruses. They don’t. That’s the science.

It's important not to direct our outrage at the defense attorneys. They're not the people who committed the crimes. Just prosecutions should be able to withstand tests of the evidence. The quality of our criminal justice system turns on the quality of the advocates on both sides.

@Julius_Kim As you should be, and as she should be. Mine was a purely emotional response. In my heart of hearts, I believe (as another commented here), that everyone is deserving of an able defense and a fair trial. Without that, we would have anarchy. I apologize for any misunderstanding.

@Julius_Kim I agree with you 100%. It's possible I mis-stated my true feelings. (Limitations of characters!). I do actually trust our criminal justice system. And I believe the safeguards are put in place for all. But sometimes one wishes there could be exceptions. 😏

@MyBluePacific That's sad to me to hear. That tells me you don't know how the criminal justice system works or trust the system. Our criminal justice system isn't perfect by far, but it's the best system in the world. If no one safeguards our Constitutional rights, they slip away.
