Every child will one day sleep by themselves.
Every child will soon stop requesting to be picked up or snuggled.
In no time at all, the toys will vanish as they move beyond them.
And their dependence on us will lessen just a bit more than it did yesterday.
So don’t let anyone ever guilt you for cherishing every moment of being a parent that you can.

My sweet little girl, giving me a moment to remember forever.

I own multiple companies, but I also have 3 children
One of my personal rules is when I step through the door, I drop my business and pick up my family
Here are 3 other rules that help me be a family man and entrepreneur:
1) Put the phone down
Our phones give us immediate access to an entire world of connections, information, and pleasure.
It's incredibly tempting.
The issue? My kids notice.
They call me out.
Especially as they get older.
Truth be told I cannot give them full focus if I am looking at my phone simultaneously.
And they deserve my full attention.
I love everything our phones offer, but I love being a dad more.
2) Make sure I block off family time
I could work late and into the weekends—and it would likely benefit my career.
But at what cost?
Time with my kids and family?
Is that really what I want?
Being successful as an entrepreneur is only one component of a great life.
I’ll work my ass off during “work time,” but that time with my kids is more precious than anything.
I want to be a business man, but I NEED to be a dad.
3) Practice gratitude regularly
5 years ago I had zero kids, now I have 3.
They mean more to me than any business, company, meeting, deal, or anything in between.
I need to remember what I am doing all this for.
I need to remember that money will give us a great life, but love and fulfillment is the ultimate.
There will be tough days, that is life.
And it’s in those moments, I step back.
I realize how lucky I am.
I remember I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be a dad, and for the incredible joy it brings me.
And gratitude is like magic.
Boom, my day is better.
THESE are rules that help me be the best father and business man I can be, all at once.
