I am torn. DeSantis is a brilliant mind. I have met him, heard him lecture - there are few who are his match intellectually - which is why he belongs on the Supreme Court. On the other hand, he is the most effective manager of a large bureaucracy that I have seen in my lifetime. For instance, I could see him being an excellent Vice President pick in 2028. That talent, which could really help the USA for decades to come - would be wasted, if he was on the Supreme Court.

Just so we are ALL CLEAR on what happened today... Educators and school administrators single-handedly CANCELLED SCHOOL for 700,000 North Carolina students... ...INCLUDING MY SON!!! To wave signs around in the street instead. The signs vary from: a) F**K ICE!!! b) Defeat Trump's Agenda c) Trump is a N*ZI d) ICE OUT!!! e) Protect trans kids f) Refuse fascism g) Stop bombing schools DO NOT TELL ME THIS WAS ABOUT KIDS. Warnock on SCOTUS: First of all, no one elected this Court—to decide what kind of remedies we need in this moment. It’s really not up to the Supreme Court to say, “Well, we have reached the threshold where this issue around race and inclusion is no longer necessary.” That is not the job of the Court. And I’m struck, quite frankly, by the very easy and nonchalant way in which this extreme, activist Court knocks down precedent after precedent. The bar for doing that ought to be high, but we’re seeing with this Court—whether we’re talking about voting rights or a woman’s bodily autonomy, the right to decide with respect to her own body—they just strike down things they don’t like. They don’t have any respect, in the ways that we expect courts traditionally to, for precedent. And when precedents are torn down, you need a darn good reason to do it—and they are an activist court.
