And just like that my season has come to an end. Yesterday while racing in the Nations cup at Watersley I was involved in a crash and went over the handlebars. I knew straight away I wouldn’t be able to carry on. Sadly I have broken both wrists but apart from that I am ok, so I won’t be able to race for a while. I just want to say thank you to @TofautiEA for looking after me so well. I am so lucky to have some amazing people helping me and I have had so many calls and messages of support today. I had some amazing opportunities coming up which sadly I have to miss, but I will be back stronger. Ruby X

@kennycovington1 @NBCSCycling I really didn't like the narrative that was being pushed at the end of the stage. It was quite disappointing.

@NBCSCycling The whole Pogacar should’ve gifted a stage to the team that won all 3 grand tours last year or that he should have stopped attacking an opponent who promised this stretch of stages would be critical is quite strange.

It’s been one year to the day since I was hit by a truck while riding my bicycle. One year of some really hard times that have changed my life forever. I thank God every day that I am still here and for my amazing partner / care 🐻 and a mighty support team that have ridden the waves of fear, darkness, and a journey to recovery with me. Besides all the broken bones and torn and dislocated this or that, the TBI 🧠 sure has made each day... um, let’s call it an adventure. I like to stay positive. Or at least try. People ask how long it took to recover. I respond with, hm, what day is it? Every day is a new day to see how the brain and body react. It happened in an instant but will take a lifetime to work through. I will never be the same. But each day brings us all an opportunity to be better. From anger, to depression, to PTSD, and of course always the anxiety, and I am grateful to be back on the bike and finding joy again. All the people like you, medical professionals and therapy for mind, body, and spirit. We are vulnerable out on the road and this happens all too often. When we are riding bikes, there seems to be a lack of humanizing connection between someone clad in lycra and someone in a vehicle. Remember, what could save you 1 minute in your life, could take a life in 1 minute. I really appreciate your kindness, empathy, and support through the ebbs and flows of change, recovery, and evolution. I might spontaneously cry a few times today, but you better believe I will find freedom, happiness, and all my critter 🐄 friends and Petaluma pastoral views today - I just won’t be riding alone that’s for sure. Look out for others, take care of yourself - you deserve the very best. I can’t say I have any tips or tricks of mantras to help gain courage and confidence through tough times - but I know we aren’t alone and there is a plan for us. Love you. 🥰 👸🏼

Update on Jonas: Further examination in the hospital revealed that he also suffered a pulmonary contusion and pneumothorax. He is stable and had a good night. He remains in hospital.

Marlen Reusser breaks her right jaw Marlen Reusser had to leave the Tour of Flanders after a serious crash. On examination in hospital, it was discovered that the 32-year-old Swiss rider had suffered a fracture to her right jawbone and her teeth were also damaged. She is on the way to Switzerland and will have further tests tomorrow in the hospital in Bern. Updates will follow in due course. 📸 @gettysport #wesparksuccess

Update Wout van Aert Wout van Aert had a successful operation today. Examination revealed that he suffered a broken sternum, broken collarbone and several broken ribs. It is unclear when Wout will be able to get back on his bike. The next few weeks will be all about his recovery. He will, therefore, miss the spring classics. His participation in the Giro d'Italia is still uncertain. We will make a decision in the coming weeks based on his recovery. On behalf of Wout, we thank everyone for their support. He now hopes to continue his recovery in peace.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear dresses and skirts. Journalists should ask me more why I am riding so well this year. It's easy - it's because of my wife and daughter. Their support is neverending. Happy international women's day to all the heroes out there
