@MyTeachingDiary @MrTs_NQTs UKS2 is a million times better than KS1 - you couldn’t pay me enough to go below Y3 now. There are loads of videos online to talk you through the maths. Don’t teach too many strategies for calculating with fractions: pick one and overlearn it.

@MrTs_NQTs HELP!! I’ve been a Year 1 teacher for the last 3 years and I’m moving to Year 5. I am absolutely terrified. Any advice would be really appreciated/support for maths understanding!!

@sebel44 @MrTs_NQTs I’m definitely looking forward to the independence. I think it’s the leap in subject knowledge that I’m worried about most! Particularly the Maths side of things!!

@MyTeachingDiary @MrTs_NQTs I’m in year 5 I love that age they are much more independent but also still need you. I love the level of cheekiness they have but that also you can rein them in when necessary. My advice be very firm and consistent, routine is the most important thing. Shout if I can help. 😁
