@MykeHunt92 @taj1944 Because Brassard was a proven asset who wouldn't ask for a major raise. Should they and could they have got better absolutely but it probably would have been for a higher cap hit. Also Brassard was good with Ottawa the trade still sucks but it's not the worst.

Dhaliwal: Dorian was fired in Ottawa in 2023 after botching a trade with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2021. Ryan Bowness who has been interviewed twice by the Canucks worked with Dorian on that deal. 2 of the Canucks finalist are 2 guys who screwed up a trade together.
