The Lt. Col. who said he would never leave the Battalion HQ and would be the last person to leave stood his ground, calling for backup. But no backup could reach the camp because several reinforcement teams had already been ambushed and killed. That was how the commander’s location was eventually exposed, and he was shot dead.
