Overnight the Government has sneaked out an announcement that they have lifted sanctions on Russian diesel and aviation fuel if processed in a third country.
They’re also now permitting Liquified National Gas to come to the UK direct from Russia.
Incredible that for all their rhetoric about the war in Ukraine Labour is now allowing Russia to benefit from oil revenue, undoing sanctions that go all the way back to the invasion of Crimea in 2014.
I never had them pegged as Putin appeasers.
This Government is a disgrace.

🚨 Robert Kenyon, “anti-elite” “not-far-right” Reform UK’s candidate for #Makerfield says “Labour and probably the other parties have got career politicians. They go to private school... before you know it they are parachuted into somewhere they have never even visited to stand as an MP”, seemingly unaware that a far higher proportion of Reform MPs than any other party are privately educated multimillionaires, and 38% of their MPs (including privately educated multimillionaires Nigel Farage and Richard Tice, along with Old Etonian ‘career MP’ Danny Kruger) were parachuted into somewhere they have never even visited to stand as an MP. Andy Burnham attended a state comprehensive school, lives “literally on the edge of this constituency” and has lived in the area for around 25 years. His children attended local schools a few hundred yards from the constituency boundary. Unline Kenyon, Burnham has never been Facebook friends with Gary Raikes, a British far-right political figure, best known as the leader of the New British Union (NBU). The NBU is a neo-fascist group that aims to revive Sir Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists (BUF), advocating for a fascist revolution and the replacement of parliamentary democracy. In June 2024, at least 41 Reform UK parliamentary candidates were Facebook ‘friends’ with Raikes. Kenyon also intereacted in his now deleted @X account with notorious far-right former Holocaust denier, Peter Sweden.
