Starting to get back into photography, so I purchased a new camera last week.
Well, to test it out I joined some friends (photographers) and shot the @blueorigin launch from Cherie Down Park. So, yes I shot a launch this morning.
Thinking I need a longer lens for the next one!🤔

Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen joined his Artemis II crewmates to address the public: "If you like what you see, then just look a little deeper. This is you."

Artemis II astronauts have traveled 252,756 miles from Earth, flown around the Moon, and observed the lunar surface like never before. Now, they’re coming home. 🌎

@CAlexMasse Seriously, I feel the same. I’ve been glued to the tv all day. NASA couldn’t have picked a better crew to fly this mission.
English

@NASA_Nerd Kind of at a loss, really. Hard to imagine the experience.

We sent the best of us.
Everyone has experienced loss. The crew sharing a moment this intimate, this real, gives us a chance to feel a raw connection to other humans across a great distance. They're off doing truly alien things in deep space, but I'll bet a lot of people have never felt closer to them.
Go hug someone you love because the only universal truth is we never get enough time with them. And the next time you look up at the Moon, keep an eye out for Carroll

To commemorate the Artemis II mission, the astronauts announced their suggestion to rename certain features on the Moon to honor the Orion spacecraft, named Integrity, as well as commander Reid Wiseman's late wife, Carroll.

Artemis II - Some milestone figures for Monday's big day:
Slightly before 2 p.m. Eastern, Integrity will surpass the Apollo 13 distance record for humans, which stands at 248,655 statute miles. Around 7:07 p.m. Eastern, they will reach the farthest distance from Earth at 252,760 miles — 4,105 miles farther than Apollo 13.
