@_motherslug I’m a terrible reader of fiction, probably the read only one novel a year, max. But I read VW’s “Between the Acts” and really liked it. She is so perceptive and her sentences are fantastic.

@PeytonElroy My mom had stage 4 lymphoma in the 90s and she had hard chemo abd radiation and is over 65 now. Without chemo my sisters and I would have lost our mom before we finished elementary school.

To be honest, I am in a huge dilemma trying to convince my Dad to not undergo chemotherapy while all doctors (whom he seems to still trust) are suggesting and pressuring him

@birgitomo My mom survived lymphoma, thyroid cancer, had 3 kids via C section, heart valve replacement, benign brain tumour removed and is in remission from breast cancer. There is no way my family’s taxes are ever going to repay the cost of her treatment. Medicare is essential!

A friend of mine has been receiving cancer treatment without having to pay a dime - a reality that my friends in the U.S. & many parts of the world cannot relate to. This is the value of Canada’s publicly funded health system. We must not allow any corrupt politicians to ruin it.

@ethan_iverson I do wonder how easy it was for him to build this software that is ostensibly going to make music instantly satisfying for people who only kind of care about it. Part of life is learning about what you really care about. Not everyone is supposed to enjoy the same thing.

I have lots among my loved ones; people in positions of privilege (legal/medical systems) forget how intimidating it is to assert oneself against these power structures.

I am constantly in the minority on this issue in elite legal circles, who have bern completely captured by 1 ideologically-driven side. It's gratifying to know that Canadians are alive to the serious issues attending #MAID expansion for persons w/ disabilities.

According to a new @angusreidorg poll, 60% of Canadians are worried that "financially or socially vulnerable" Canadians will consider #assistedsuicide because they can't access adequate support and care. We urge the federal gov't (as always!) not to make decisions about minority rights in response to public opinion polls. @FTMcKay @CraigBaird Sadly, lots of Klan history here in western NB, shown in newspaper articles and archival photos. My grandparents used to talk about pressure to support or attend the meetings (they didn’t). Even Klannwomen had a local group at one time.

While we tend to think of the K*K*K as something that only existed in the United States, there was a period of time in the 1920s when the group was very large, and politically powerful, in Western Canada.
Let's learn more about this dark time.
